He nods slowly smiling softly at her discovery. Cassette tapes had been something of another life and not something he had been privilege too. His childhood hadn’t been the best and he had often seen other children with tapes and players going about their days and having easy, forgiving lives. These tapes placed before him reminded him of times filled with envy and hatred. Kevin’s insides churned as he reminisced and all he could bring himself to feel was grim satisfaction that all those assholes (with their non holey clothes and cassette players) who thought they were better were for the most part.. probably dead. As fast as it had come his sick happiness faded as did his smile. Nausea spread down to his stomach and his body felt too warm. He felt terrible for allowing himself to think that. Fuck he was an asshole. People were dead, were dying. Jesus fuck he was no better than trash. Eyes snap to the ground as he responds. “T-those are really nice.” His optimism sounds forced but he believes it’ll pass. “But you’re right, it’s time for us to get going, if we stay for too long rotters might come.” The strap of his bag is swung back up on his shoulder and he gestures forward still not looking at her. “Um…” His brows scrunch together in concern. “Where exactly are you headed?”
