INSTINCT  WAKES  HIM  ,  causes  him  to  stir  ,  eyes  to  flutter  half-open  upon  feeling  the  new  pressure  on  his  body                    additive  and  positive  ,  not  unwelcome  or  unwarranted  .  he  doesn’t  remember  dozing  off  ,  head  against  the  back  of  the  couch  ,  but  it’s  SUNDAY  .  nothing  to  do  ,  nowhere  to  be  ,  nothing  but  a  gloomy  sky  and  the  sound  of  their  dogs  ,  all  asleep  ,  snoring  down  the  hall  .  sebastian  smiles  as  he  looks  down  to  see  dmitri  there  ,  joining  him  on  the  couch  .  he  runs  his  fingers  through  his  lover’s  messy  head  of  curls  and  smooths  a  thumb  back  and  forth  along  his  brow  .  sebastian  sighs  ,  settles  .  lets  himself  relax  again  .  his  thumb  travels  down  and  caresses  dmitri’s  cupid’s  bow  .  ❝  take  a  nap  with  me  ,  mitenka  .  ❞  his  low  voice  rumbles  like  distant  thunder  .  ❝  DON'T  GO  .  ❞

he’s  in  a  bathrobe  ,  the  tie  loose  around  his  waist  ,  #1  dad  coffee  mug  in  hand  (  courtesy  of  dmitri  and  his  humor  ,  of  course  )  .  a  sip  of  coffee  as  he  heads  for  the  living  room  ,  and  all  of  a  sudden                there’s  dmitri  ,  startling  him  around  the  corner  and  smushing  against  his  chest  .  thankfully  the  coffee  only  sloshes  a  tiny  bit  ,  but  doesn’t  spill  over  .  ❝  hey  !!  ❞  giggling  ,  he  watches  dmitri  undo  the  bathrobe  tie  and  open  it  fully  ,  unveiling  sebastian’s  naked  frame  .  dmitri  gets  right  up  against  him  ,  face  rubbing  along  his  chest  .  ❝  you’re  like  a  nuzzling  horse  ,  you  know  ,  ❞  he  laughs  ,  rubbing  dmitri’s  back  .  ❝  i  see  why  you  married  me  .  i  see  what  part  of  me  you  like  best  .  here  .  let’s  go  lay  down  on  the  couch  ,  and  we  can  sit  together  while  you  . . .  do  whatever  this  is  .  ❞  kissing  dmitri’s  hair  ,  sebastian  grins  and  links  their  fingers  ,  coffee  forgotten  on  a  table  .  it’ll  waste  .  it’ll  cool  and  become  totally  undrinkable  by  the  time  they’re  through  ,  but  luckily  ,  with  dmitri  close  ,  cold  coffee’s  the  last  thing  he  cares  about  .

he  hears  dmitri’s  shoes  coming  up  the  front  steps  ,  hears  the  key  in  the  lock  ,  and  feels  the  change  in  the  air  as  the  front  door  swings  open  .  and  there’s  the  prettiest  sight  he’ll  ever  see  ,  curly-haired  husband  darting  into  the  kitchen  to  find  him                  the  fact  that  dmitri  seeks  him  out  ,  first  ,  every  time  he  comes  home  ,  is  one  of  many  reasons  why  he  loves  him  so  completely  .  it’s  a  long  list  .  ❝  you’re  as  pretty  as  a  picture  ,  ❞  he  croons  as  he  dips  down  ,  stealing  a  kiss  .  sebastian  turns  back  to  the  stove  ,  checking  the  pot  he’s  currently  stirring  .  ❝  missed  you  today  .  did  you  get  all  your  errands  done  ?  ❞  despite  how  he  should  be  focused  on  the  soup  ,  his  eyes  linger  on  dmitri  as  his  husband  walks  to  the  fridge  .  of  course  his  gaze  dips  down  ,  sneaking  a  look               or  two  .  ❝  are  those  new  jeans  ?  you  look  great  in  them  .  god  help  me  .  ❞
