CHARTED THINGS

can you seek adventure  &  truth, lara croft?   she supposes the answer is better asked;  are they exclusive of one another?   he inspires you.   what is truth  &  what is yours can be adventure in itself.  remember;   tell stories,  they needn’t all be yours   &   in fact,  at times,  it’s more fun when they aren’t.

“  the lost hall of records–  shawky,  you found it?  “   not a single archaeologist had found evidence of it but here they stood,  dust encroached  &   breathing amongst mythic history.  the treasure is always records.  it is never gold,  it is never silver or precious stones;   no ore,  no preserve but history written in ink.  but this wasn’t why he was excited.  she tries to follow his the jitter of such joviality,   still peering with curiosity in express  &  bright in the warm complexion of her features.   look around. take it in.  no one has been here in hundreds of years.  

❝  HERE  ——  HERE  !!  JUST  DOWN  THIS  WAY  .  ❞  he’s  convinced  lara  to  meet  him  in  egypt  ,  and  now  he’s  guiding  her  down  winding  tunnels  meticulously  carved  into  the  rock  .  they  slip  past  dozens  of  already-sprung  traps  (  he  won’t  go  into  detail  about  them  and  the  chaos  they  caused  )  ,  further  down  into  the  catacombs  of  hidden  passageways  ,  until  ,  like  a  great  ,  rejuvenating  gasp  of  air  ,  the  walls  widen  into  a  vast  space  .  before  them  ,  deep  beneath  the  sands  and  stone  of  the  great  sphinx  of  giza  ,  a  giant  room  .  hundreds  of  ancient  scrolls  covered  in  dust  .  relics  ,  statues  ,  carvings  ,  coins  .  a  most  miraculous  sight  ,  the  room  littered  in  other  archaeologists  and  excavators  all  working  on  the  find  .  

shawky  turns  to  his  friend  ,  the  biggest  smile  on  his  face  .  it’s  clear  he’s  never  been  happier  .  ❝  FOUND  THIS  LAST  WEEK  .  welcome  to  the  lost  hall  of  records  ,  lara  .  there’s  something  i  need  to  show  you  .  ❞
