meira herself hasn’t thought about romance in the slightest... so this is all me tossing ideas out based on what vibes with me, whoops--

vaike! ... only if we toss their entire support chain out the window because uhhhhhhhhh. wow. so instead, bls consider... meira’s never gotten to really- be a person before? her entire life was built around her older sister: protect robin. serve robin. die for robin, the fell dragon’s vessel. even after robin took her and fled, she’s having a lot of difficulty breaking that mindset; she still acts like her sister’s servant rather than, well... a little sister. so vaike??? getting her into trouble ( ...that ISN’T bath related )??? teaching her to loosen up and actually have fun????? good shit...

lissa! same with above, really-- lissa helping mei loosen up and have fun? playing pranks on their elder siblings? helping her come into her own as a person? but also being genuinely warm and kind and making her feel appreciated? she’s never... had that before. from robin, yes, but there was always that expectation that mei placed herself last and robin first, and she struggles with it.

olivia! meira’s mother was a priestess and dancer in validar’s sect of the grimleal cult, and in turn taught her daughter to dance much like she did, as offerings to grima. meira’s experiences with the lessons were... less than good, even though she liked the notion of dancing on its own. as a result, she... doesn’t dance at all anymore. olivia helping mei come over her discomfort with dancing??? and having fun again? pwease?

stahl! i mean... it’s stahl. him gently helping her like vaike and lissa??? being such a soothing, calming presence given his relative normalcy compared to the others??? mei learning to cook in an effort to impress him??? hewwo???

 this... has been something thea had been preparing herself mentally for, yet when the request is given, she suddenly feels the nerves hit her despite her better judgement. clarine cuts an intimidating figure for someone with such a small, lithe stature, highlighting any gap between her intense poise and thea's own rugged mannerisms gained from a life of mercenary work.

from far away, clarine has always seemed the very definition of an etrurian noblewoman, but... even if etruria's upper class has held less than favorable opinions on ilia, clarine is still klein's little sister. this is the one who klein spoke of, looked so painted with anguish when he heard she had gone missing, who had inspired him to remind thea the importance of staying safe for one's family...

if she was such a beloved sister of klein's, then she must surely not be cut from much different cloth than him. thea puts that faith in clarine's character, though her body still feels rigid from the nervousness that plagues her.

in all honesty, i pay zero attention to that sort of thing anymore. i’m just-- too tired to care? but from what i’ve noticed people are still doing box themes, going dash-only, or super minimalist. and... do what sparks joy, tbh! as long as you’re not using tiny-ass font that’s impossible to read and your links are accessible, go buck wild.

   you blink, having followed the general’s gaze down to your thigh, where a rather large, blotchy red mark sprawls across the upper half. ( and once again wonder why you decided to accompany him to the mixed baths in the aether resort to begin with. ) feeling a little self conscious, as you tend to when it comes up, you adjust your towel in hopes of hiding it a little more-- only to give up when you realize how bad of an idea that’d be.

“y’know, you’re not the first person to ask that, actually.” a laugh, a touch too high in pitch, to try and ease some of your own anxiousness. “whenever someone sees it they ask what happened-- but it’s actually just a birthmark. at least, i think. if something happened, it was so long ago and i was so young that i don’t remember it at all. it doesn’t... you know, hurt or anything. honestly, the most harm it’s caused is making me not want to wear shorts or sheer tights or-- y’know, anything that’d show it.”

   ... he probably thinks it’s gross and weird, and you shift a bit uncomfortably at the thought before pressing on, pushing past the general and out to the baths. even if he doesn’t, you want narcian to stop staring at your legs already! “c’mon, you were the one who wanted to go to the hot springs so badly! let’s go before something happens and demands my attention.”
