In ancient China, there was a type of perfume that released fragrance through combustion. During the reign of the ①Tang Dynasty in the 7th century AD, the primitive gimbal structure (early gyroscopic device) was invented. It was applied to craft ②silver pomander sachets, preventing burning incense from spilling onto clothing.Similar structural designs were also adopted in some ③Chinese traditional palace lanterns.
