ahhhH in that case i’m so happy to finally hear from you off anon!!!  tysm for whatever messages you’ve sent in the past!!  if they had anything to do with sabo i’m sure they made me very happy haha.  and ftr i always notice you whenever you pop up in my notifications and think about how much i love your url c’: it’s a damn good url; i’m jealous!!

     At first, Lami figured everything was fine. For one, she could still hear everyone talking. She was still wearing her pink dress, cardigan sweater, her feet bare. But then she’d heard the anguished screams.

      Am I dead? Lami actually had to ask herself this. Am I dead? At first it seems obvious that she is. That the standing-here-watching part is temporary, an intermission before the bright light and the life-flashing-before-her business that would transport her to wherever she’s going next. 

      Except it’s already been a week, a week of watching her friends grieve over her body, pale and listless, the bright, bright smile still etched onto her face. A week of trying             and failing                to talk to someone. A week of watching life slowly, but surely, carry on. It’s almost as though her existence has been completely erased. And Lami isn’t sure if she should feel happy or not. 

      And after a week of avoiding him, Lami finally decides to visit Sabo, her feet carrying her soundlessly down the dark hallways as she peers hesitantly into his office. He looks terrible. Guilt tightens her throat. It’s her fault. Even in death, she’s still causing him pain. She remembers holding onto his hand, clutching it tight like a lifeline, before finally slipping away, drowsy and cold, but so so happy that she wasn’t alone. 

      “What’s with that look on your face?” Lami demands haltingly, sucking back the tears that threaten, knowing that tears would only make matters worse. It’s not like he can hear her; and safe in the knowledge that her words are only for her ears, the small and slender blonde would continue to lecture him. “I told you not to see me, but no, you just had to keep on visiting. And you just had to watch me die. You sure could have spared yourself a lot of pain if you’d just let me die alone.”

Sanji was all for being subtle and silent while trekking through unfamiliar territory, but it was beginning to wear on his already paper-thin nerves that the top hatted man trudging in front of him hadn’t heard a word he was saying. He had asked the same question three times already, but each time was louder and deeper than the last, almost like he was growling for the other man’s attention. The disgusting suctioning of mud on their shoes was distracting, he would give him that, but there was something else that bothered him more than the cold, gritty slop that was oozing into his nice shoes ( damn, he should have worn boots. )

“Listen!” Despite having made noise himself, he lifted a finger to his lips and let out a low, rumbling ‘shhh!’ Where most heavily forested islands, even ones as dead as this one, were filled with noise, this one was eerily silent. He saw neither hide nor hair ( or feather ) of any living creature aside from the man in front of him. No birds, rabbits, frogs — only the chilling breeze that swept by made any noise as it rustled the few leaves that stubborn held on to their branches.

I HOPE YOU DON'T MIND IF I STEAL THIS AND ACTUALLY USE THEM BECAUSE UNLESS YOU SAY IT'S NOT COOL THEN I'M. GONNA.
