INT - NIGHTTIME - HAISHI/JIE LI'S GENERAL STORE CHARACTERS: JIE LI, SHOP ASSISTANT, SEVERAL FAIRIES AND DEMONS

△ The counter in Jie Li's General Store shakes violently, and the rare and precious items on the shelves fall to the ground one after another.

△ Jie Li tries to protect all her stock, but to no avail. Goods shatter one after another before her.

Jie Li: (Gasps in anguish) Ten spirit stones! Twenty! —What's going on?!

△ Before she can finish speaking, the roof collapses. Jie Li dodges nimbly and calms down. She looks around at the chaotic scene outside the shop and listens intently.

△ A shop assistant stumbles in through the door.

Shop Assistant: Shopkeeper, outside…it's a complete mess outside! Shouldn't we close the store?

Jie Li: What's the point of closing the store now? I'll grab the valuables; you pick out some useful items as well and get out of Haishi quickly!

Shop Assistant: Get out, why?

Jie Li: I've lived in Haishi for over a thousand years. I know where every rat hole is located in this place. Believe me, something terrible is about to happen! Come with me!

△ Jie Li quickly opens the money box and begins packing up the gold, silver, and valuables.

△ The shop assistant also hurriedly turns to find a weapon. Just as he picks up a knife, a wisp of Evil Qi drifts over and is inhaled by the man. His eyes turn red, and he stands motionless.

Jie Li: (Impatiently) Why are you still standing there like an idiot? Are you waiting to be hacked to death?

△ Suddenly, Jie Li realizes something is amiss. She turns around and sees the mad shop assistant viciously slashing at her. Jie Li dodges, and the shopkeeper smashes into a shelf.

△ Jie Li grabs a handkerchief to cover her mouth and nose, drags a bag of jewels and gold behind her, and runs away as fast as she can.
