I've been keeping up with ZR season 10 and I truly just am so full of love and awe for this story
I've been running with ZR since 2012, when I was a 15 year old high schooler with an eating disorder that nobody took seriously because I was (and remain) fat. It helped me change my relationship to exercise away from punishment, and especially in the early years I was heavily involved in the fandom, especially via tumblr and the chatroom we used to have (remember that? is that still a thing?).
The sheer extent of change in my life since then is overpowering; I'm almost 27, a published PhD student receiving a truly humbling amount of government funding for my dream research, I've moved across the country more than once, I have transitioned, I have a beloved fiance, I have a whole new landscape and new running routes. And the wild thing is that in-game, the years of transformation have kept pace with the passing time. s10m18's revisit to the forest of fallen runners, and to Major de Santa's memorial in particular, was such a full circle moment.
I, as ever, am so full of love for Janine de Luca, and for all the characters who have managed to survive these years, and the determination and love in the post-mission email today was just overpowering.
It's so easy to think about how much Five loves the people of Abel, because Five has spent the past 11 years there just like I have.
