Domain Name
This semester, in web design create class we are to create our own professional online profile which can be used after we graduate at the end of this year.
Domain names can be very simple like your own first and last name or even your nickname. However my name is very long and my initials or nickname is sky which is too short and all the domain are already taken.
I would like to have my website with my full name however in class we have to consider if it is memorable for people, if it is easy to spell or to communicate verbally to people.. etc... and No, my name is unusual, it is not easy to remember or spell my name... Although it is not easy to spell i thought of using my firstname (Sairi).com but my first name is commonly used for indian's last name therefore all the domains are taken. My last name is even worse it is just too common.....
I thought of stupid possibilities like changing the readings of my japanese characters into chinese which did not go well at all. Sairi is read shuri (shoely) in chinese characters... =_=;;
I decided not to complicate myself and just go with sairizworks.com or sairizdesigns.com
If I use sairizworks.com I can put my artworks online as well as my designs. Although it might not be an ideal domain name since it is not easy to spell or communicate but there is always a way to fix it by making my own business card with my name, website and contact details.
