Developer Facepunch Studios has announced s&box, the spiritual successor to Garry's Mod.
I know this isn't what any of my followers followed me for, and it won't be done for a while, but in the mean time I made this cool geometry node that populates bookshelves automatically :D A tip: Don't do the empty slots with a transparent material. There's a bug with Cycles that makes them still have shadows if the material is applied with nodes. Use empties instead.

S&BOX review so far: it's very early. I quite dislike how the character model look as well, they are very realistic (I do not like that usually).
It seems the monetization system will be built in about the same way as roblox, but allegedly less predatory. Who knows how it turns out at the end.
Their editor is very impressive, it's basically a fully featured C# game engine built on top of Source 2. I wonder if it can become a new popular social game like vrchat and roblox. VRChat because it has VR support, roblox because it has basically everything roblox has.
