So... I decided to open DGS 2 again today to see a scene in particular, this one specifically.

my yearly BaroRyuu Kuri Komi tradition continues (apparently, against all odds)

Ahhh, my two darlings, you know me so well!! XD RYUUSUSA

They're very functional to me, absolute soulmates (yes I'm biased, I love them!! XD) Some extra notes:

Susato is at perfect forehead kissing height, I'm such a sucker for their height difference

Fun fact, I have a pair of grandparents that have a similar age gap, lol!

Susato is a very reserved person, even if she wasn't born in the late Victorian Era and was born in 1983, I feel like that's just the kind of person she would be, and it reflects in her relationships

She's the type that would be more subtle when it comes to affection, but once it's noticed, it's impossible to miss

Hence, since she's the number one fangirl of Sholmes ever, she's also quite good at deduction!

Ryuu, on the other hand, wears his heart on his sleeve, it's rather easy to know his feelings, but he knows not to be too over the top with his affections!

He also is more verbal, especially since Susato already reads his thoughts XD

As for the overprotectiveness, that just seems like the kind of person Ryuunosuke is

I've even written a fic for "The one who dies protecting the other", and yes, I cried while writing it XD

BARORYUU

I don't draw Barok nearly enough, that's going to be my 2025 new year's resolution I suppose!! XD

Some extra notes:

Ryuu's head is at perfect perching height

Conversely, Barok's cape is the perfect height/length for Ryuu to wrap himself up in while Barok does said perching

Barok is very suppressed and awkward, even before his self imposed isolation due to his "curse", so I can't imagine he would have very much relationship experience

Ryuu has been known to be rather popular/well liked in Japan, so I think he's definitely had dates before (as a treat because I love him)

Ryuu also seems like the one that would be the type to take that plunge, from confessing to proposing and everything in between, he'd be nervous the entire time, but he has that underlying courage to take that first step

They both seem to be men of big extremes, but I think it can work out, they end up working together seamlessly in court, so I think they would have a very strong and long lasting relationship despite everything! :D

And here’s the ryubaro version from 1-5.  In which Barok has a thought and then immediately shoves that thought into the back of a dark closet in his mind to deal with later.
