Me: Orders better, longer kayak paddle Also me: Needs a way to transport said paddle when riding the scoot Fabric stash to the rescue! I made a bag with an inner divider so the two halves of the paddle don't knock around. Next up is adding a channel to put a drawstring through, and attaching the drawstring to the bottom of the bag so I can sling it over my shoulder to carry it, and to help anchor the paddle when I transport it on the scoot. Finished product. The purple calico was a leftover scrap from my fabric stash that comes from the machine quilt I made when I went off to college, and is a good example of why I never throw out scraps. . Mending an applique on a vintage baby quilt. I was able to match the embroidery floss perfectly, which helps immensely. The skirt is too damaged to mend, so I'll be replacing it with a skirt in a new fabric, and turning some of the surviving fabric into an apron so that the original motif isn't lost entirely. Needed something to protect my second helmet visor and didn't feel like buying a visor bag, so with a few minutes of work, turned some heavy felt from my fabric stash into a protective sleeve. Why yes, I am repurposing a felt blanket from the blood bank into a tablet sleeve. The device sleeves that I've made myself have all universally held up way better than anything I've ever bought. I've been using the same neoprene laptop sleeve I made for something like the last 15 years and it's still in great shape even having dragged multiple laptops around the world in it. By repurposing a heavy felt blanket, I'm also cutting down on waste, especially since the blood bank quit reusing the same blankets when the pandemic started.
