Yeji

When Ryujin first brings it up it's during breakfast Yeji drops and breaks her mug from shock

She's so conflicted about it tbh and genuinely kinda hesitant to bite Ryujin

She knows Ryujin loves her and since she's asking outside of heat it's not just her omega instincts making her want to but she also doesn't ever want Ryujin to feel trapped in their relationship since omegas can't make bonds with other people as easily as alphas can

But on the other hand her heart is so warm at the fact that Ryujin wants to take this step with her. She already knows that Ryujin is hers and that she's Ryujin's but the thought of being bonded in the most intimate way an alpha and omega can be bonded kinda fucking sends her

It takes a lot of reassurance from Ryujin for Yeji to finally feel comfy with biting her

She's very gentle about it, so much so that it takes a few tries for her to actually give the bite properly because she really doesn't want to hurt Ryujin

But when it comes to Ryujin biting her she's extremely enthusiastic lmao practically begs for it

Deadass comes untouched in her boxers the second Ryujin completes the bite which Ryujin will never let her forget lmao

Ryujin

She's wanted to bond with Yeji since before even their first time together but is extremely shy about it

Has had to physically restrain herself from just going for it so many times, especially whenever Yeji's knot is in her and she's desperately holding in her own release until Ryujin comes first

She knows that Yeji wouldn't mind Ryujin biting her even without asking but she really wants them to do it together. Which she is also very shy about so she doesn't say anything at first

Only gained the confidence to properly bring it up after one of Yeji's more intense ruts. Yeji's generally not as outwardly possessive as most Alphas are, most of the time she just pouts and cuddles into Ryujin whenever she's feeling territorial but when she's in rut that shit is turned up to 11 and after she keeps growling about claiming her omega Ryujin decides that maybe she should bite the bullet and ask

She's very patient because she kinda has an idea why Yeji's not ready yet but it also makes her a bit sad that Yeji still worries about not being enough for her. Makes sure to continuously show her how much she loves her in her actions and words

Very overwhelmed when Yeji does eventually bites her and tries (and fails) to hold in tears cause it feels even more amazing than she could have ever imagined

Highschool Era

Ryujin

Very much that kid that brings her guitar case to school even if she's not gonna play anything later. By her first year she already had some experience in the indie scene thanks to her friend Chan

At first only knew Yeji cause she used to go to the same piano lessons as Yuna and Yuna wouldn't stfu about her

When Jisu first approaches her she says no cause she doesn't think they're serious about it and she's very determined to actually work in the music industry. So she uses the fact that she also played gigs for bands that need a substitute as an excuse

Yuna's auditioning for Jisu and Yeji's band though and insists Ryujin attends that at least. Ryujin gets there early cause she has a gig later and finds Yeji self teaching herself the bass

Yeji's like really really bad rn, can barely even hold the thing properly but there's something about how serious and passionate she is despite all that that really resonates with Ryujin big time (also she's very pretty) so Ryujin changes her mind and adds her name to the audition sheet last minute

She can't be there fulltime cause she wasn't lying about subbing in for groups that need a guitarist but she does give her all. And it really doesn't hurt that she gets to spend more time with Yeji

Gets closer with the band and gets Chan to help them reccord their shitty first original single to give out at their first gig

They're not very good but it's fun and Ryujin really loves how alive Yeji looks on stage even if she's nervous af

Ryeji don't exactly date per say at first but Ryujin flirts A LOT and they get extremely close

Gets an offer to join the Mixnine Program for Upcoming Artists in the UK and she's excited ofc but she also really loves her new bandmates a lot and kinda doesn't want to leave

Only fully decides to go when Yeji tells her to

Yeji

Her music background is mostly dance but she also used to play the piano in middle school

When Jisu first starts talking about how cool it'd be for them to form a band since they both love music she's like "okay but what if we actually do it though?" Which is how Itzy was born.

She decides she wants to play the bass because it will be more of a challenge for her and she doesn't want to just take the easy route (also it looks cool)

It takes a WHILE for her to get good enough to actually play in front of people but eventually she gets insane at it and is really proud of herself

Recruits Chaer to be the drummer cause they know each other from dance and she wants an excuse to still soend time with her friendo now that she's got a lot less time to dance for fun

Has no idea what the big deal about Ryujin is until they officially meet at their first practice and then she's very much whipped but tries not to be extremely obvious about it because Ryujin is so casual and cool and she feels like she has to match that energy

Becomes the defacto leader of the group because the other 4 are such a mess and she's uncannily good at keeping things together despite also being a chaotic person herself

Joins Yuna in writing their first single, it's not very good but she's so proud that they were able to actually get this far

Gets NERVOUS at their first performance but tries her best to hide it cause she can see the others aren't going much better than her. Ryujin sees through it and gives her a little hand squeeze and her whisker dimple smile before they go on stage and Yeji's like "wait... do I have a crush on Ryujin???"

After that experience she gets a lot more serious about the band and sits Jisu down to ask if it's silly that she kinda wants to try and get Itzy into the industry proper.

Jisu's been thinking about the same so they discuss it with the rest of the girls. Chaer and Yuna are on board but that's when Ryujin reveals that she applied for the Mixnine program and probs won't be able to commit fully if she gets accepted

Yeji's conflicted cause this is an amazing opportunity for Ryujin and she's happy for her, but she also thought she had a lot more time to fully figure out her feelings and confess. So she decides to make the most of the time they have together and only eventually confess if Ryujin doesn't get accepted

Rank in conservative society is predicated by how primary and secondary gender interact with each other as well as how far removed an individual is from the cishet status quo. For example, cishet male alphas have the highest overall rank while afab alphas and amab omegas have the least. Most people nowadays see this for the bullshit that it is but there's still a lot of prejudice that gets thrown around in daily life.

Note: rank in conservative society is also very much affected by all variations of queerness, but those distinctions usually only come into play if the individual doesn't hide their identity

Alphas

Make up about 18% of the adult population

Presentation usually occurs from ages 18 - 21, though alphas can still present younger or older depending on their environment

Height and strength are not influenced by secondary genders but it is easier for alphas to gain muscle mass

Alphas find it difficult to get along with other alphas unless they're in the same pack but can grow accustomed to each other over time. Most alpha friendships form before presentation

Alphas are often stereotyped as aggressive towards others but that's just an unfortunate societal expectation born from common alpha behaviours during ruts

However, alphas are prone to be aggressive with each other and often contest each other. Contests are challenges of rank between alphas, usually signified by a change of pheromones and can be a sign of respect or an insult, depending on the relationship both alphas have.

Alphas are very protective and territorial. This manifests differently dependent on the alpha's personality

Ruts can only be properly satiated by sex with an omega. Sex with betas can help but it isn't as effective. Attempts at self relief are usually very painful and other methods such as calming pheromones and medication usually make the rut worse so if an alpha doesn't have any help they usually self isolate as they wait for it to pass

Afab alphas are less fertile and therefore have a lot of awful stigma around them in conservative society

Most afab alphas have "periods" (another contributor to the stigma in conservative society) though there is no ovulation only symptoms such as nausea, cramping, lethargy etc. During their period, their sex drive is much higher but their fertility is even lower which makes knotting extremely difficult

Knots are most common when an alpha is in the presence of an omega in heat or during their rut. Though they can also occur if an Alpha gets aroused enough

The severity of ruts vary from alpha to alpha but common symptoms include heightened aggression and sex drive

Only mating bites from omegas are permanent, any other bites fade over time. Alphas can mate with multiple omegas

Omegas

Make up around 37% of the adult population

Presentation usually occurs at around 18 - 19 years of age. An omega can still present when their older than this range depending on their environment, but it's never younger than 18

Omegas are often stereotyped as submissive but this is just an unfortunate societal expectation born from common omega behaviours during heats

Omegas have an easier time taking knots than betas and alphas but it can still be a bit difficult if they're not in heat.

Omegas usually take medication to suppress their pheromones and it is advised to also suppress heat if an omega doesn't have anyone to help

Omega heats are usually properly satiated by sex with an alpha they feel comfortable with, though this may vary from omega to omega. Medication as well as calming pheromones from a trusted pack member may help soothe the omega through the experience without sex

Amab omegas are less fertile and therefore have a lot of awful stigma around them in conservative society

Most amab omegas experience heat less often and do not have periods

The severity of heats varies from omega to omega but common symptoms include: fever, malaise, stress, pain, heightened sex drive, heightened neediness and excessive nesting

However ironically betas have the highest and most consistent fertility

Can receive mating bites but they don't have any effect and fade very quickly

Holds the divine visionary candidate exam every year. Any student with 7 gold coins can enter it doesn't matter which year they're in. Depending on the trails more than one student can be that year's divine visionary candidate but usually there's no more than three in a year

Coins are earned through uni related activities and there are 3 types of coins (gold, silver, bronze) awarded depending on on the type of accomplishment made

Dorm system dependant on which field of magic you've chosen to specialise in

Adler - combat oriented (practical application of magic, creature hunting and the like), members more likely to try for divine visionary positions

Orca - arts oriented (magical history, magical art, magical literature and the like)

Lang - science oriented (magic deconstruction, medicine, magic technology and the like)

The best of the best in the magic world

The examination is to be considered a candidate but to actually become a visionary you must be a triple liner (the number of line marks on a magic user's face increases based on their absolute magic power and three lines is the maximum) and know how to effectively use your thirds (the highest peak of someone's magic potential signified by triple lines)

Must effectively use their god wand (unlocked when using thirds, the true form a wand that calls upon a god's strength and embodies their ability)

Adler dorm

Captain of the Duelo team (basically mashle's version of quidditch without seekers) plays essentially the chaser position

Specialises in magical creature hunting

Yeji already took the exam early last year but stepped down to let Jisu win in their singles round. No one but those two knows why

Yeji has an advanced from of healing magic she can use defensively in battle by healing the second she's hit and offensively by "over-healing" to essentially give herself superhuman strength, speed, etc. Since it's not obvious that it's healing most people don't actually know the true nature of her magic which usually gives her an advantage in battle

Yeji can also heal others though it takes longer and requires some form of physical contact. If she's healing someone else she can't heal herself, she can only heal or buff one target at a time

Using her "overheal" buff on others can also do damadge as her healing can also be interpreted as essentially altering the state of the body which means she can dismantle most things she can repair, though this is way harder than plain healing and takes a large physical toll on her since it's so complex. This also still needs contact to work effectively

Healing only works on living creatures

Triple liner but only has one line visible at all times is across her nose where her mole is. The other two lines appear under each eye running up to her chin when she activates her Thirds

Her thirds call upon Asclepius god of healing. Her god wand form is a long serpent entertwined staff

Lang dorm

Duelo player, plays essentially the chaser position

Specialises in rune manipulation and magical tech

No interest in the exam tbh girlie just wants to graduate and get a job

Ryujin uses teleportation magic. The distance of teleportation is dependent on the size of the object. The bigger/heavier the object the more difficult it is more Ryujin to teleport. As such teleporting herself takes a toll and she can only do it a certain number of times a day

With Yeji's healing buff though that number increases depending on how effective Yeji's heal is

Impliments teleportation with runes and magical objects during battle

With her triple line her magic evolves to lowkey omnipresence, she can make objects alternate between states of existence and nonexistent. She can apply it to herself but it takes an even larger physical toll than just teleportation

Originally a double liner, with one line on each of her cheeks that accentuate her whisker dimples

but eventually discovers her third line which runs through her two moles
