Six months, that's how long Madeline had been gone for. She knew reconnecting with Ryan wouldn't be easy, hell, nothing about them was easy. She didn't know what she wanted. The brunette tried her very best to forget about him while she was away in London, but he was always on her mind. Most people would say she was crazy, how could she still love a man who treated her so badly, but Madeline also remembered the good times they had, and when Ryan was good he was good, but when he was bad, he was bad. She didn't know what he was like now, maybe he had some time to think about his behaviour, maybe he was better now at controlling his anger, maybe the time she spent away from him did him the world of good, but she had no idea. He was very short with her when she spoke to him earlier. He had every right to be angry with her, she left again, leaving him alone with their dog. She felt terrible about leaving him, but she had to get away. She could feel herself slipping away, she was a shell of her former self and she needed to go, have some time to herself, and now, she was starting to feel like her old self again. The six months away helped her reconnect to herself, but in the process, she might have lost the man she loved.
The brunette was staying in a hotel. Her return was a spur of the moment kind of thing, she didn't know if she wanted to stay permanently in Baberton yet, so she figured getting a room for a couple of days was the best thing to do. She was nervous about going over to Ryan's apartment. She didn't know how things were going to be. Maybe he moved on, maybe he wanted nothing to do with her, but the kiss they shared earlier said otherwise, but maybe she was reading too much into it. It didn't take long for the brunette to get ready. A few minutes later, she was out the door and on the way to his apartment. When she arrived outside, she rang the buzzer and waited patiently for him to answer. She still had a key, but she didn't feel right using it. This wasn't her home anymore.
