Riley didn’t even bother blinking. This place was strange for sure, but this? Her eyes were less focused on his face and more on the bright orange suit covering his body. It was… Confusing, to say in the least. It seemed to be armor, but who in their right mind would paint such a thing so brightly? The best conclusion she could come up with was that he was meant to distract and take bullets for others. A bad idea in general if one were to ask her, not that she could say much however. 

She had served as Booker’s distractions, gunslinger, and, on very few occasions, his shield. Whoever this strange man was, he must be something similar. He was just better equip to actually take a bullet.

It had still been dark when Gordon fell through the wall. Only street lights had made visible the shootout that his unexpected clamor had created. When it was over, only the outline and glinting blood of a bullet-riddled body remained of what happened. 

Gordon hadn’t shot him but bullets from his gun nevertheless plastered the sidewalk and parked cars. It was a mess of a crime scene with multiple shooters but only one killer. 

Dawn turned the sky gray. Suddenly the body was a whole lot more visible and it took no time at all to gain attention. 

Sirens zipped around nearby Gordon but never came directly for him. When he was finally approached, it was by one lone man on foot. Not a very bright fellow to be rushing someone more armed than himself - but it was evident in his expression and proud tone that he had only good intentions. 

Six feet of big dumb muscle wearing a tattered green coat shoved his police badge right into Gordon’s face. “Freeze! Detective Dick Gumshoe here. I know that funny-lookin metal getup. You’ve been identified as a witness to murder!” His deep voice carried a stereotypical East coast accent, possibly Brooklyn. 

3. Dorothy Rattmann ( @therattsden ) 

Saving Chell’s life is a great way to make her hug you and never let go of you ever again. I hope Dorothy likes strong arms and being clung to for all eternity! Because that’s what’s happening. 

2. Wilson P. Higgsbury ( @scienceofsurvival and @scientificallystarving ) 

Cute man who is definitely not a scientist! At all. 

…Also *cough cough* he’s the only other person on this godforsaken island *cough cough* so. Uh. 

(I tagged both of my Wilsons because including DSRP in this ask just wouldn’t be fair)  

And the number one spot goes to… *drumroll…* 

1. Gordon Freeman ( @rxguephysicist​ ) 

Gordon is a tiny delicate marshmallow. He will be hugged and cuddled into submission whether he wants it or not. When he’s good, his reward is hugs. When he’s bad (AKA risking his life again), his punishment is more hugs.

“Gordon is not easily calmed. He looks like he’s calm but then he’s not, he’s actually still very scared, so you have to be very attentive. Check his pulse in his wrists because he might not trust you near his neck. Check that it isn’t too fast because if it is, he is probably not as relaxed as he appears. 

“Blankets and hugs and other good things make him either calm or appear calm. But if he’s doing the thing where he says he’s okay and isn’t moving much but isn’t okay and is scared (check his pulse!! and his breathing!) then go get his Barney and bring Barney for him to cuddle.
