Atthis point you were surrounded by a horde of monsters, their teethgnashing at you while their glowing hollow eyes watched you. You knewyou were in trouble and this time Joseph and Sebastian wouldn’t bethere to save the day. You weren’t the type to give up. Your eyesscanned the small space around you and felt a bottle clank againstyour foot, you picked it up and raised it above your head, “STAYBACK!”

Thisaction made Ruvik chuckle, you were so spirited for someone who wasabout to be eaten by his minions. His power allowed him to flashcloser, his minions noticed this and made him a path through thecrowd to you.

“You,girl,” he offered his hand to you and you gladly took it, “Please,drop the bottle. I will not harm you and neither will they.” Ruviklooked around him at the minions who, as if on queue, backed away andstarted walking in different directions. For a moment, you allowedyourself to breathe, placing the bottle on the ground next to you. Hegrinned and spoke again, “I am–”

“Ruvik,I know. Listen, there’s not much time,” he tilted his headcuriously as you interrupted him, “I’ve come from a world outsidethis one. You are part of a video game, I know, It sounds strange butplease..”

Youtook a breath and noticed he hadn’t let go of your hand yet, youcouldn’t stop your cheeks from becoming rosy, “I’ve played thisgame so many times. I’ve been trying to find you. I care about youand don’t want you to keep getting hurt! I know about your sister andhow you both burned in the barn because of the nasty townspeople. Iknow they’ve torn you a part and are using you in a project calledSTEM.”

Atthis point, Ruvik’s eyes went wide. How did you know so much aboutthis? Was what you were saying true?

“Iknow you’re looking at me like I’m crazy but I’m sure you’ve noticed;I’m not from around here. I don’t know how I’ve been transported herebut I know my will was strong. I want to help you. To help you getout of STEM, go into the real world, and possibly find happinessagain.” You exhaled and waited for Ruvik’s response. This was a lotof information to process and you’d learned that giving one persontoo much information could lead to an overload withmisunderstandings.

Hewatched your expression and knew you couldn’t be lying. He’d studiedpeople and anatomy too long not to notice a liar, his mind thought ofJimenez instantly and then was brought back to reality as you touchedhis shoulder. You reminded him of the kindness that his sister alwaysshowed him, it made him smile, “So, you want to help me escape,hmm?”

Hishand ran through your hair as he watched you, “Such an interestingone. You want to help someone as awful as me.” You shook your headbefore leaning into his hand, “You aren’t awful, Ruvik. You wereput through so much, it’s no wonder you aren’t dead. God knows Iwould be.”

Hegave a nod before pulling you close, “This isn’t a good place totalk, come. Hold on tightly to me.” You knew he was going totransport you both somewhere and you always wondered how it wouldfeel. As your arms wrapped around his muscular torso, your headinstinctively lay on his shoulder. You felt a harsh breeze and aflash of light before you were fully transported into a room. It wasbeautifully decorated with sun flowers, the bed was golden withfloral accents, and the carpet that you both were standing on wasplush and blood red.

“Thisis beautiful, Ruvik.” You were in awe as your eyes wandered aroundthe room. This must be Laura’s room. Ruvik heard you murmur andsmiled. He separated himself from your body, taking his warmth withhim. This left the room feeling colder around you, “Yes, this wasLaura’s room.”

Youcould feel him watching you again, his eyes took in your form and hegrinned. You were something spectacular, he felt like you and Laurawould’ve gotten along very well. You both were so kind and loving, hecould feel this just by touching you, “Why do you want to help me?Hmm, I don’t even know my ‘savior’s’ name.” You could tell he wasbeing snarky, he didn’t fully believe what you were saying but atleast he heard you out and didn’t kill you instantly.

“Myname is (Y/N). I’m not sure if you’ve met Leslie Withers yet?” Atthe mention of that name; Ruvik looked up at you and gave a nod. Ofcourse he did, Joseph and Sebastian were already here, “Leslie isthe one you were searching for, he is your way of getting out ofhere. There are others here that are trying to stop you, I will helpas much as I can.”

Ruvikcouldn’t help but smile widely, you really did care about him,“Alright, Miss (Y/N). I believe you. So far you have told me thetruth but you still haven’t answered my question; why are you wantingto help me?” He walked close, his bare feet falling against thecarpet silently while his hand reached out to touch your cheek. Hefelt how hot you were with his touch. So this is what it feels liketo touch a woman?

“I’mhere because– I care deeply for you Ruvik. I don’t want whathappened in the game to happen to you. You eventually make it outbut– it’s hard to tell if you actually do or not. I want this planto go off without a hitch and for you to escape at the right moment,so that MOBIUS can’t touch you.” You felt your hand lift up andmove underneath his white hood, your thumb stroked his scarred cheekand you smiled, “I really think, if things were different, youwould’ve been an amazing man. I have faith that underneath all thatpain; you still are an amazing man.”

Ruvikdidn’t know what to say, someone actually had faith in him. He hadn’tfelt this inspired since–

Thistime, he wouldn’t let anything or anyone take you away. You made himfeel safe, you made him feel loved. He truly did miss that feelingand since Laura had been gone; all he had felt was cold.

Hewas going to take you with him, he was going to get you out of STEMas well.

Ruviktook your hand in his and held tightly, “While we are in here youwill follow my orders, for your safety. Not all of the monsterslisten to me and I want you as close to me as possible, okay?” Hesounded serious, his voice was low but made goosebumps form on yourskin. You gave a nod to show that you understood before he pulled youin for a quick kiss, “I will not fail, (Y/N). I promise you, I willnot fail you as I did Laura.”
