The Silmarillion Hello! ✏ My name is Ruslan Shapolov, and I am a book illustrator.

This is my personal project—a fully illustrated edition of The Silmarillion, created over the course of a year. As a devoted fan of Tolkien’s incredible world, I designed this edition with great attention to detail. It features:

Over 50 unique illustrations

400 carefully designed pages

Decorative drop caps for each chapter

Intricate marginalia

The cover is designed to resemble a Silmaril stone, wrapped in a dragon-skin dust jacket!

I would be delighted if a publisher takes an interest in this project. All illustrations were hand-drawn in Photoshop using a pencil-like brush, giving them the appearance of traditional paper sketches.
