Felt like trash the day before this run. Ate very late in the day (Noon) and had a super hot day. Was running around doing errands all day and rented a car for the occasion (I don’t own a car, miracle how I get around L.A. :P). Despite being inside my air conditioned BMW (go Zip Car!) I believe I managed to dehydrate myself. Was feeling off all day and thought I had a very light migraine. Felt it during this run and had to wait until 5:00 PM in the evening to do my run despite the headache and some nausea.
I also had the bright idea of trying a new running drink, generation UCAN. Unfortunately, it made my nausea worse and gave me a tummy ache. First half of the run was still hot. Despite this I manage to do an 18 mm which would have been faster but stupid me forgot to turn off my phone while at a stop light and checking face book. I also underestimated the length of my route and ended up making it a mile longer than I needed it to. Got home really late (9:30 PM) and was so wired I did not got to bed until nearly 1:00 AM.
Given all of this I am kinda freaking out for the San Francisco Marathon (second half). Going 16 mm seems like an impossible task. Half of the race goes downhill so I hope that helps.
