He should have known better than to push this much this hard, should have known to stop the moment he started to feel like he was pulling from the magic that literally kept him alive. But Magnus Bane was nothing if not stubborn and determined, heβd been sure he could handle it, even if he had been working more than usual lately with very little rest in between large bursts of magic.
All that mattered, though, was that the demons were gone. To hell with the fact that there were actual black spots in Magnusβ vision, or that the world seemed to be spinning too fast around him and every muscle in his body seemed to be screaming.
