Is Roe2 a confirmed member of Log Horizon? The wiki says that they are and the reference sourced is the volume 16 teaser, but I thought that the teaser was of Shiroe meeting her. Did I miss something or has something changed???? Like twice a year I just dive the wiki and convince myself that season 4 is in production and this was not here a few months ago
Whoops, I somehow never saw this!
I think the Hara Kazuhiro artbook effectively confirmed Roe2 was intended to be Log Horizon's Summoner, rounding out the "1 person per class" rule Mamare had intended. An illustration featuring every official guild member, plus Roe2, was posted at the end of the Re:Fraction snippets.
(Sorry about the poor quality photo, the physical artbook is fairly small and my phone's camera hates my ass.)

Was rereading volume 3 on a whim and... man, the fact that Rudy took an arrow to the skullĀ before while he was still a regular Person of the Earth, got dangerously close to dying a few times in that dungeon, and STILL didnāt let that deter him from his dream? Dudeās seriously hardcore.
(In the anime, Rudy caught the arrow between his fingers instead... which is still impressive, but doesnāt go as hard as the LN version once you find out that Rudyās a Lander.)

Thought for the night, brought on by rikkamaruās question about Lander classes:
Itās known that Landers have less detailed profiles. In S1 episode 10, it is seen when some are seen bowing down to the Eastal Leagueās procession into Akiba; the only thing that shows up for their status screen is the fact that theyāre a Lander, and an HP gauge.
Which leads me to wonder two things: 1) Why is it that some Landers have detailed statuses while others do not, and 2) How exactly doĀ āuniqueā classes work?
In regards to the Ten Seatsā Lander members having detailed status screens, I dug up some while ago from Mamareās notesĀ that Plant Hwyaden developed theĀ āMenu Cheatā to add or change features in the game menu, though it canāt add features that no longer exist like the mini-map. This could go to explain why their members have detailed menus.
However, even then, Rudy and Elias were depicted with detailed statuses and they arenāt associated with PH at all. Originally, it could be argued that Rudyās was made up in the anime to throw people off from the reveal (of course, it could still be that reason), but then it should also be noted that we never get a look at Rayneshia or Li Ganās profiles.
This might indicate that Landers who train to a certain level of combat proficiency will be able to acquire detailed status screens with special UI to match. (Li Gan admits to being proficient enough in combat magic to be able to take on Lander knights, but as it is neither his specialty nor interest, his class is a rather passive Lore Master with no known unique icon.)
We see that Mizufa (Warlord), Elias (Blademancer), and Jered Gan (Archmage) have unique icons and colors for their classes. Whatās more, their icons take elements from existing classesā: Mizufaās uses the shield from Guardian, Eliasā uses the Sorcererās staff, and Jeredās uses a variation of the Enchanterās eye. While Mizufaās UI color is blue, which is not used in any other classā color scheme, Eliasā is in line with both the Warrior and Mage classes. Jeredās, however, is interesting -- despite using the Enchanterās eye, the color scheme is purple, closer to the Healer classesā colors rather than the dark green of the Mage classes.
It seems that they have anĀ āevolvedā version of the Adventurer classes, so to speak. Classes that go beyond the rigid lines of theĀ āgod-givenā presets that Adventurers have to adhere to. Given how I mentioned in rikkaās ask that Landers need to actually train to acquire their classes, itās possible that they are capable ofĀ ācreatingā new class-combinations that can eventually beĀ āacceptedā by the world laws as a valid Lander class.
Given that the four Landers we know of with traditional Adventurer classes are all relatively young, itās possible that given time, they too couldĀ āobtainā unique classes. Itās comparable to the Overskills/Mysteries that the Adventurers develop, just a tad more unknowns since up to this point, itās been indicated that Landers donāt wholly have free thought (re: unable to discover real flavor or develop more than 42 songs).
Assuming this is true, though, this may further explain why the Genius gunned for the Ancients first: the more experienced, powerful ones among them probably had unique classes like Eliasā and thus had more unknowns for them to deal with. Sealing them away would narrow the scope of their trouble to Adventurers, who have a fixed set of classes and skills to work with. Which is, then, logically why Overskills are crucial to defeating them.
