Lincoln grew up in an affluent family, and as a child he had everything he wanted handed to him on a silver platter. As he grew up, he was always rebelling against his parents as a way to try and annoy and piss off his parents, which resulted in him being sent away to a military school when he was eleven. When he arrived, he soon fell into a rougher gang of boys that began to lead him further astray, and into more dangerous gangs. 

He was kicked out of school at fifteen, but instead of returning home he went with the friends he’d made through the school and in turn was inducted into a criminal ring that had him doing house burglaries, before upgrading to being protection for the ringleader. He was caught in a deal gone bad, which Mayor Battenberg covered up on the condition that he work for her.

Now twenty one, he is stuck working for Titaniara. He knows too much about the woman to leave, knowing it would be risking his life and his families if he tried. He’s changed a lot from his wilder days, and is trying to find a way to escape. 

When his boss turns up dead it’s a prime opportunity for escape, if only he didn’t look like a suspect.

Electra’s life has always revolved around music, it was her escape from an abusive childhood home that resulted in her father finally going too far and accidentally killing her mother when she was ten years old. Her then eighteen year old brother came home to find his little sister sobbing over his mother’s lifeless body, and went out in search of his father. Beating the man to a pulp, their father was sentenced and jailed for manslaughter, and her brother for assault. 

Thrown into the foster care system, she was bounced from home to home, often getting into fights with the other children, or even her foster parents before it was said that she had to move on. At eighteen, she aged out just in time for her brother’s release, and the two moved in together to try and make a life for themselves. They worked hard, Electra somehow managing to get a job working for a record label, where she watched eagerly to learn the ropes. 

Eventually, she managed to sweet talk an investment from a former colleague, and soon enough she established Mockingjay Records. The label took off and before she knew it she had artists clamouring to sign at her label. With her proceeds she bought her brother his own bar, and the Conduit siblings finally managed to shed the past and work to a future. 

When she was asked to provide up and coming artists for entertainment at the Mayor’s annual charity event she jumped at the chance, this is the first time her label has been asked and she’s desperate to make a good impression. A scandal is the last thing she needs.

JETT CONDUIT: Her older brother, her hero, her confidant. He’s the best thing in her life, and she does anything to protect him, especially if someone finds out about her past. 

THE RIVAL / LOVE INTEREST: It started off as a competing for artists, to sign to their respective labels. Trash talking over phone calls and emails led to a lunch, lunch progressed to after work drinks, drinks to dinner and before they knew it, their trash talk moved to the bedroom.   One flash of a moment can disecate a person and turn their skin inside out irremediably. Leona watched the reflection in the mirror change from the graceful girl who went to ballet classes thrice a week and was too exhausted for sword play, the sweet girl drawing the same picture of five happy smiley faces over and over again without a gram of talent, the shy girl who would insist to remain in the backstage during family interviews just because she didn’t think that the spotlight belonged to her too and what she was until the age of eighteen. She felt that miraculously fast switch occur in a second of tension, and she was suddenly less of everything that made her herself, and more of a mid-July ghost. 

  She was eighteen the year of Slate’s Games. She was eighteen and about to die. While the twins preferred and were registered as District Four citizens, she has always been rooted in Seven, so the Oaklands split for Reapings and she stayed with her father, shoulder to shoulder, while they would hold their mother’s hands three districts apart. When the escort yelled her name, she was already white with panic. All the heads in the crowd turned towards her, the invisible girl, for once in the spotlight, boiling under the sun. Somewhere, miles away, in that exact moment, her younger brother was getting the exact same kind of attention. Luckily, before Leona even managed to process it and take a first step towards certain death - as prepared as she was, she was always smart enough to realize that she didn’t represent an exception and that she wasn’t as special as the crowned ones had to be - another volunteered, and the burden got lifted off her fragile shoulders. 

  When she ran to the Capitol, relieved to tell the rest of her family that she got away and wasn’t dying, she was welcomed by far worse news than her hypothetical death: a life worth infinitely more than hers seemed to have been the target of that year’s Games. The punishment on her family had cut to half, but Leona didn’t care, because it was twice worse with just her brother out there alone in the arena. Relief turned a different shade, and it looked like guilt from an angle, because he didn’t escape like she did, but Slate survived and the Games did nothing bad to the Oaklands, but break her little brother. For that, she would never forgive the system, because the Oaklands meant everything and more than that to her. 

  After that tumultuos year, Leona gave up ballet and picked up the battle items, although out of the danger zone. After that year with a victory tour that was the only crown she ever wanted to see, looking at her brother as if he were the sun itself because his presence was the highest form of miracle, she started popping pills, because they were the only thing stopping her from attempting to punch every man who ever cheered for Slate in the disgusting way that was supporting not her brother, but the idea of the Games and killing each other itself. Mildly sedated was the only way she could function. It made training painless. It made training never stop. She became better than the best without needing it for anything.

  Almost turning down the trainer job after applying and getting hired, half probably because of her surname and half because she could hold that knife, she didn’t know how to handle people and talk to them, let alone guide them through understanding battle strategies and learning how to fight for their lives successfully. When she opened her mouth, she was lost, and it had less than nothing to do with the continuously dreamy state the pills were giving her. Stuttering she has always been fluent in, until she decided to stop talking altogether, because he had nothing of Marina and Stone Oakland’s charm and affinity to an audience. For that, she is a mediocre trainer, doing her job poorly not because she wants the tributes to fail, but because it is the best she can do in the field.

Hunter’s personality didn’t age one day, through marriage, through the birth of three sons, through the loss of one, through a collapsing marriage, through a divorce, through over twenty years of mentoring, through good and through bad. Although he wasn’t as actively caustic as he used to be, he grew into a bitter man, rather than spicy, although his humor was still the everyday mask glued to his face that he couldn’t take off no matter what. Having a family meant the world to him, as little as he was showing it, and his children were the center of the circle - there was nothing he would deny them and he was living to ensure them a safe future that lacked nothing, material or emotional.

That was until Jean died in the arena and something cracked. The death of his middle child threw him between walls of ice and let nothing get to him anymore, even his own family that he claimed he would move mountains for. Nothing was the same and he distanced himself from everything, but mentoring, although it was supposed to be what didn’t bring Jean home safely, since he was the one to send him sponsor gifts and guide his arena route the best he could. 

Everything bad followed instantly. No matter how much he would have once tried to keep the marriage from falling apart, he became disinterested in it and his wife, somehow still resenting her of all people, when it was as difficult for him as it was for her. Although Hunter did love Hadley and what she represented, she wasn’t his Bella anymore, and his life suddenly took a turn where she was no longer welcome. Although he was the one to initiate the break, she is the one blamed for it, at least in Hunter’s book, and he would never miss a chance to expose his teeth in a cruel grin and laugh at her through a filter of bitterness that showed clearly, even in the dark.

BACKGROUND

Annie was born prior to the Alice uprising, which caused her to loose her parents. Her uncle, Slater, became her guardian, and in an attempt to provide the best life quality for his niece, he moved to the capitol. Life was difficult for someone who’d been branded a traitor, and one whose parents died for the cause. Annie grew up knowing her aunt was an avox working in the tribute tower, so she learned sign language early on as they communicated. She never saw her aunt a lot, but she loved her dearly.

By the time of the second uprising, Annie had been twelve, struggling with school and bullies chanting Orphan Annie whenever she passed them in the hallway. But that hadn’t been the worst of it all – the worst of it all was that her aunt was executed on a live televised event for everyone to see, her aunt along with many other spies in the Capitol. Annie took the hit hard, for days she wouldn’t eat, or talk, or even go to school. Not even the Blackwood twins could get through to her.

She grew up very close to the Blackwoods - she never visited district seven except for the reapings, but holidays were always spent in district three in the Blackwood household. When Annie turned sixteen, her name was pulled out of the ballot and she was the announced tribute for the 127th games. Being surrounded by mentors and trainers, Annie won the games, but like every other victor, she lost a piece of herself to the Capitol, and in an attempt to protect herself she hardened her exterior and never let what she felt prevail. She tried to maintain a normal life, going to school until she got her high school diploma, enrolling into an arts program where she continued a passion she’d always harbored as a child, ballet.The one person who managed to push through her hardened shell had been Gabe Blackwood, and those two could be called inseparable. It all felt normal, but how normal can her life really get, when every year she has to watch her own tributes either die or loose pieces of themselves in the process?

ONE YEAR LATER....

A lot of good and equally bad happened in one year - the bad had been watching Charlotte Tyr go through the same hell, quiet literally, that Annie’s gone through. Annie’s somewhat taken it as a responsibility of her own to look after Charlotte ever since, trying her best to set a good guidance example to what life as a victor was like, all along with giving her the distance she needed.

The good that came out was Gabriel’s proposal -- the previous year they’d always talked about running away to the wilds, and how impossible but beautiful something like that would have been. Now she was only a few months away from being married and it may sound crazy, but Annie finally began feeling herself again. She’d even began making plans to leave mentoring all-together, and finally it seemed her life began turning somewhat to the better.
