Last week: wrote an entire chapter of my book (and it's GOOD, fuck yeah!), did a shitload of fic writing, edited a chapter and a half of one of those fics, did a bunch of reading.
This week: fucked around on tumblr, watched too many episodes of spn season 12, stared into space, poked very slowly at a little edit thingy for the fire in me is rising.

(If I'm reading your fic, I swear to all the gods I WILL be back to keep reading and commenting. I have five tabs open right now, I just have no energy. I'm blaming the insane amount of smoke currently smothering my town XD).
The smoke is gone, I'm finally getting real sleep, and my work schedule is back to normal! I managed to do some book work, start editing chapter three of my wincest fic, work on chapter four, and do some work on the fic I'm doing for the Pro Ship Bang, whee! Assuming my brain continues to do well, I may actually be able to start reading/commenting on all the fics I have open again sometime this week! (or this weekend, but whatever the case, I am coming for the next chap of HV even if I have to do war with my own brain, damn it!)

So, I'm taking a break from The Fire In Me Is Rising to play with a Cas/Dean/Sam/Jess idea I had (which can be blamed firmly on @superpolynatural and this post). I knew Jess was a plot device but holy shit, I didn't realize just how true that was until I sat down to write from her POV. I'm basically having to create an entire character, based around the few scraps we're given of her personality.
And it's such bullshit! It's okay if she had to die in the first episode to launch the storyline, but there was no real reason she couldn't have continued to be a character! There could have been flashbacks, Sam could have actually talked about her. The entire first season could have been a way to get to know her. Hell, I've seen that done--the Queer As Folk reboot (I will forever be pissed that was canceled) had a character who died in episode one, but through flashbacks and the other characters you still get to know him and care about him. He became a part of the story, rather than a tool to launch the other characters' stories.

I only have two chapters left to outline before I can start my book, I am actively working on my wincestiel (not chapter two, lol, but damn it, progress is being made!), and I've started editing chapter one of this weird wincest I can't stop obsessing over (because why not, let's post TWO WIPs. It'll be fine -sweats-). Progress, you are a beautiful thing :D.
