…and he falls right into the middle of what Malkuth had been doing. And before you think it was something crazy, it was actually work. She’s a very accomplished and diligent young lady you know! Yes, there’s an unavoidable side of her that embraces the chaos of ‘try new things’ and eccentric collecting of this and that… but that comes after her work. And her chores. And would you look at this… some weird guy just showed up and knocked over a book case?! Those are all going to need resorting. Look at her face scrunching up a bit as that hits.
…then it hits this is a new person, and they’re also wearing a patron outfit?! Okay, work in a bit. Right now she needs to introduce herself and find out what just happened.
“Oh wow! You just fell from nowhere! Or, well, somewhere up there. Without dying.” A glance upward, following the three great columns that represented the other Asiyah layers up into the void of space above. “Are you okay?” Daemon is accosted and borderline restrained by the girl, brown eyes scrutinizing him and his state.

Blissfully unaware, but that could be considered the norm rather than the exception when it came to the patron librarian of the Floor of History. Hither and thither does the guileless woman flit as she goes about her duties instructing and guiding her assistants as they undertake receptions and sort away books from across the library. All this comes to a screeching halt.
It’s like a time lapse into slow motion video clip. One second Malkuth is adding another collection of books on the first era of the city to a middle shelf, the next there’s an impact. Fischl enters the scene like a bullet, spiralling through the air and colliding with Malkuth in a solid shot.
“GUEH!!!” The critical sound effect rings and echoes with her voice before they both fall into a pile on the floor. Malkuth on her face with Fischl, the newest employee (there’s probably a story there she hasn’t heard yet!!) resting on her back. For a moment Malkuth is as good as dead, the next she’s snapped back to attention, fully healed and 100% Malkuth’d up with a beaming eyes.
“That was so cool! You came in like fwoosh and then I was like bwuh and ... how did you do that? Did someone throw you? Was it Harry? He should do that to me sometime!”

Malkuth works her hardest, and all around the library are aware of it. In the past it was a sickness that wormed its way into her mind, driving her and driving her to the point of self destruction. Yet for all the regrets that bind themselves to the notion it wasn’t enough to snuff the flame to stop her from still trying. She does the things she’s able to. And stands on her own. But there was still more she could try, and ...
...it doesn’t always go well. So it’s nice to have someone there (but also a little embarrassing) to offer some sympathy and encouragement.
“Oh, thanks Daemon. Did I look upset? I hope I wasn’t worrying anyone else. I’m still trying to learn things around the Library. And even with all the books available to us some of it’s really hard to grasp. You make some of this stuff look too easy.”

Oh yeah? Interesting! I actually hadn’t thought of it going that way. Admittedly I was seeing something cute developing between Malkuth and Daemon, made double by how they were, yknow, previously horrified of her existence! That said, I’m open to things developing one way or the other and nothing is ever set in stone. However things end up I’m enjoying the interactions. Fischl looking up to and admiring Malkuth is something she will be... well, she won’t be the smartest to it. But then the same would go for Malkuth and Daemon too. She’s dense and auto-friends everyone.

She’s promising as far as the younger recruits go with the Adventurer’s Guild. Oh? My bond with her. I...” That gives him pause, a stumble in their expression before it regains itself.
“...I’m simply doing what best I can to aid and point her in the right direction. Nothing more and nothing less, don’t read too deeply into it.” The response carries with it the edge of a threat. Sharp like a blade.

Imagine not being friends with Malkuth. It’s almost impossible despite argument and predisposition on their end. As mentioned later, history is one thing but if Malkuth can conquer hers then I believe Daemon can overcome theirs and just! Accept! The Malcute! Into their life!! I want to see them go on adventures somehow. Whether it’s through warp shenanigans or doing adventures inside the books because thats a thing we could do.

I’ve already confessed that I can see these two being really cute as a couple, and not just because of the history Daemon has with the other Malkuth. The whole.... enthusiastic girl against grump/awkward opposite is just really cute to me, alright? And we kinda get that here. Either way it’s a slow undertaking since things are outright ‘friendly’ from her end. And getting that realization is a climb. But one I think is funny and worth it.

Malkuth already has a ton of familial dynamics with the other patron librarians. So the guardian and role model roles are for better or worse taken and accounted for. Still, there’s plenty of room for Daemon to teach her more things about their past and life. And she’s eager to learn.

I mean the core antagonism we have going already takes the form of Daemon being traumatized by how Malkuth was during the L Corp loops. And eventually that may or may not be addressed and discussed... but until then! Wow look at the mess. So far no reason for her to dislike him in return though. But Malkuth tries to get along (and impress) (and be useful for) everyone.
