Craig brings Tweek over to his house so they can hang out and Ruby sees Tweek for the first time. She immediately gets a crush on him and pesters them for year until she meets Karen.

Karen is protected all her life by Kenny, but he can't protect her while she's in school. So one day someone starts picking on Karen and that's when Ruby steps in.

Ike is extremely happy to be going to school. He skipped a some grades because he exceeded the classes. He was extremely kind and smart and then he meets Firkle.

Firkle was more of a loner. He had always hung out with his goth group but since they attended different schools, it got difficult. Firkle got a bit moody and grew an attitude. Especially towards the always happy Ike.

Ruby vows to always protect Karen.

Ike tries to be best friends with Firkle.

Eventually a group assignment comes up and the teacher assigns the 4 in a group. Ike and Karen sort of know each other on account of their brothers being best friends.

The kids eventually warm up to each other. Firkle tried to hate it but he just couldn't deny the fact that it felt good to not be alone for once. He actually enjoyed company. Karen started getting less shy and started talking to a lot more people. Ruby began to loosen up and be more friendly but she was still ready to fight anyone. Ike generally stayed the same.

Years pass and the kids are the best of friends. When high school hits, Ruby realizes she has feelings for Karen. With Rubys only experience with crushes being with Tweek, (which was mostly just to annoy Craig) she wasn't good at expressing her feelings. She awkwardly traps Karen in a corner and confesses. Karen finds the act extremely funny but she eventually starts dating Ruby.

Firkle had warmed up quite a bit to Ike. Even if he didn't show it. Firkle had eventually started having feelings for Ike but denied them until graduation. Firkle still hadn't decided if he did like Ike or not but the crowded graduation ceremony certainly helped. Firkle was shoved by someone and fell onto Ike. Firkle eventually confesses and Ike starts dating him.
