The dictionary is plain wrong about this stuff. Trans, transgender and all other words for gender or sexuality are adjectives.

If I'd call you a Heterofrau with the gender heterofemale you'd at best think it was super weird phrasing and at worst be offended. Usually it's not so good to just listen to what the dictionary says but instead listen to the people the words are about.
