Today my kids attempted to shatter me into a million pieces. Plenty of autism moments, adhd moments, toddler moments and plain ol asshole kid moments. But instead of saying “it’s been a long day I’m staying home”, I flipped my script and said “I need to go work out to get in a better head space”. It worked. Remembering that if I’m not coping, wall away, lift heavy weights, push my physical limits and the mental focus and determination resets. I came home and things were a bit more calm, but on the inside I was more calm 10 fold.
