★ Sam notices before you even have to tell him– he’s a smart guy, he'll pick up on the little things immediately. The second you start looking more tired, get frustrated more easily or you’re just overall down:  "Rough week?" He won’t directly ask if you’re on your period, so that’s his ‘not so discrete way’ of asking with zero judgement whatsoever.

★ Honestly, he's incredibly sweet about it. He researches things. (Because of course he does) Suddenly he knows which foods can help with cramps, why heating pads work, what postures help relieve the pressure… Anything and everything.

★ Keep supplies stocked without making a big deal out of it. When living on the road, stuck between motel rooms, it was pretty difficult to have stuff on you at all times– that’s when your golden retriever of a boyfriend appears with his duffel and shows you his wide range of options for you to choose. After y’all settle down in the bunker, he still makes sure to have at least one drawer fully stocked and ready.

★ If you're having bad cramps, he'll pull you against his chest and let you lay on him while he reads. He’s basically a human heater, so leaning into him definitely helps– plus, he’ll quietly read out loud to you to try and distract you, big hand tracing soft circles on your back.

★ You're crying over something random and apologizing for it? "Hey, honey… Don't apologize, you're allowed to feel things" Big hands cradling your face while gently brushing away your tears.

★ His favourite thing to do (period or no period) is simply take care of you, overall: gentle giant.

dean winchester

★ Dean acts like it's no big deal because to him– it isn't. You’re going through it and he’s there to help, there isn’t more to it. Taking care of the people around him is quite literally engraved into his very soul, specially those he loves. Castiel, Sam, his ‘amazing perfect beautiful girl’ (his words, not yours) all of them are the very top of his priorities.

★ He's actually surprisingly experienced. Growing up with adults and being around people all his life, periods don't weird him out. He deals with way ‘grosser’ things on a daily basis.

★ "What do you need, sweetheart?"

★ Immediately goes into problem-solving mode. Heating pad? Done. Painkillers? Got them.  Greasy comfort food? Already halfway to the kitchen before you even have to ask. If you're craving something specific, he will absolutely leave at midnight to get it– he’ll pretend to be annoyed while doing it too, because he still has to be a little smug about it: "These better be the best goddamn cookies I've ever bought" But he's secretly happy he can help.

★ If you're extra grumpy, he doesn't take it personally– he understands you’re not actually mad at him but just upset overall. He'll tease you a little bit, though. "Sweetheart, you just threaten my life over your side of the bed?" … “I’d do it again” He’ll raise his hands in mock surrender. “Fair enough"

★ Honestly, Dean’s very affectionate during your period. He’s always clingy, physical touch is a must with him as your boyfriend– but instead of smushing you with his bodyweight or shadowbox right in your face, he’ll give you reverent forehead kisses and hug you into his chest. Winchester body heat is a real thing and God bless it.

★ Poor guy is trying his best. At first, he has approximately thirty questions– apparently angels aren’t trained on menstrual cycles. "So your body does this every month?" …  "Yes, Cas" … "That doesn’t seem very efficient"

★ After that, Castiel becomes incredibly attentive. He pays attention to every tiny sign that you're uncomfortable. He’s got a bit of an unfair advantage given he can quite literally sense any change (physical or emotional) just from one of those intense, blue glances of his.

★ If you mention something helps, he remembers it forever, no matter if it was an actual full-on conversation or just a comment you mentioned in passing. Once you said tea is actually quite nice for when your stomach’s acting up– ever since then, he’s got tea locked and ready for whenever you might feel like it.

★ When your cramps are bad, Cas will place his hand over your stomach, letting the warm light of his grace gently soothe them away. Every once in a while, he’ll murmur a quiet: "Would you like me to heal you?" It doesn’t matter if you’ve explained a thousand times that that’s not how periods work.

★ Castiel is very much a silent comfort person– his wording sometimes fails to express just how deep his devotion goes, so instead he'll sit with you for hours. He won’t complain if you’re mean or emotional, if anything? It makes him feel even deeper for just how uncomfortable you must be right now.

★ If you're emotional, he'll reverently cup your face and say: “Your emotions are what make you, you"

crowley mcleod

★ Acts dramatic for approximately five minutes. "Another enemy has appeared, splendid" Drama king, much? (Pun intended) Crowley loves to pretend like he's inconvenienced, spoiler alert: he is not.

★ This demon absolutely spoils you, whatever you want magically appears in a matter of seconds. "You deserve a little luxury while you're suffering, darling" He waves you off the moment you call him out.

★ If someone annoys you? They're now officially his enemy too. "Say the word and I'll ruin their entire week, y’know I’ll do it"

★ Crowley insists you stay inside and rest unless it is absolutely necessary (nothing is important enough in his eyes for you to leave, but still) he’ll prepare your room with everything you might need, adapted to achieve maximum comfort– pillows, blankets, dim lighting, candles (he’s extra like that), food and endless amount of TV ready for watching.

★ When you inevitably end up curled into yourself on the couch, Crowley will settle beside you and gently pull your legs over his lap. Of course, he won’t make a big deal out of it– matter of fact, he’ll actually avoid your gaze when doing so. He simply stares ahead, slowly massaging your legs with the quiet reverence a man like him can muster.

★ He secretly loves when you're clingy. (Absolutely will not admit it) Murmuring a raspy: "Don't you go getting used to this" … “Ruins my reputation as King” While quite literally, running his fingers through your hair.

★ Somehow manages to turn period week into a whole event. "Okay then, operation make my favourite human feel better is officially in swing"

★ Like everything else about him– it’s maximum chaos. One of his favorite things he learnt from humans was the blanket fort, comfort movies & snacks combination. It’s better than any personal Heaven his Father could’ve cooked up. (Mainly because it includes you there next to him)

★ He uses the opportunity as an official excuse to teleport over to twenty different stores just to find all your favorite snacks. And by ‘your favorite’ he means quite literally any and every snack in sight– in the odd case that you don’t like them, he’ll gladly eat them up.

★ If you're emotional? He becomes extra soft. If you're angry? He matches your energy. "Hey sweets, who are we fighting?" … "My uterus" … "Excellent, hate that guy" If you're cramping badly? He loses his playful attitude immediately, softening himself so as to not annoy his girlfriend further. (He can be a bit much and he knows it)

★ Gabe's very physically affectionate. Lots of cuddling, lots of kisses all over your face, lots of trying to distract you from the pain– he’s definitely the type to make you laugh when you're feeling miserable, no matter how much it hurts.

★ Ruby acts tough but she's actually very caring. She surprisingly notices before you even have to say anything to her. "You're cramping, aren't you?"

★ This demon doesn't baby you unless that's what you want– she's very much a "Tell me what you need and I'll do it" type of girl. You want space? She'll give it. You want cuddles? She's right there. She acts all big and tough but in reality she’s basically your knight in bloody armor, waiting for your command.

★ Honestly, Ruby’s amazing at handling mood swings– she never makes you feel dramatic. "Babe your body's actively trying to kill you once a month, think you’re allowed to be a bit frustrated with the world"

★ She's incredibly protective. If anyone says any stupid bullshit about periods around her (those classic ‘ain’t even that bad’ disgusting little comments) She's staring at them like she's planning a murder– to be honest, she might actually heavily consider it.

★ Ruby’s also really good at helping you feel attractive when you're feeling gross– it doesn’t matter if you’re feeling bloated, greasy, have acne or you’re barely awake enough to stand up. She’ll throw around lots of casual compliments. "You're ridiculously hot, stop overthinking it"

So you let the boys sleep. Left a quick note taped to the motel door—Gone for food.

You’d considered taking the Impala, but Dean would probably jolt awake like some kind of creepy cryptkeeper if he heard the engine. You didn't want his indignant bitching, you wanted some damn food. So you walked.

The diner was the kind of place that had probably looked exactly the same since the ‘80s—faded checkered floors, a counter lined with chrome stools, and a coffee pot that had likely seen things no coffee pot should. The morning light slanted through the window beside you. Winter was starting to lose its grip, the cold giving way to something softer, lighter. Even your aching muscles felt a little looser, the quiet hum of the diner settling into your bones. For the first time in what felt like days, you exhaled.

The bell above the door jingled. A pleasant sound, soft and unassuming.

Instinctively, your gaze flicked toward the entrance, half-expecting Sam or Dean to come shuffling in, still looking half-dead and demanding coffee.

They didn't. Instead, she walked in.

Ruby.

She strolled through the door like she owned the damn place, blonde hair catching the morning light in a way that made her look almost angelic—if angels were the kind of creatures that manipulated their way into your nightmares.

She dropped into the seat across from you without ceremony, propping her elbows on the table as she leaned towards you.

The hearing ends at four thirty-seven. (Not that you're counting or anything…) "Counselors" Judge Martinez says, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I have made my ruling" You don't look at Ruby– you don't. Opting to stare at your notes instead, jaw clenched as the judge grants her motion. Again. Across the aisle, Ruby is infuriatingly calm. No celebration, no smug grin– just that composed expression she always wears when she wins. Which somehow? Makes it all that much worse. "Anything further?" The judge asks.

"No, your Honor" The stupidly smug defense attorney says smoothly. You gather your files before court is even adjourned, ignoring her little proud hum.

By the time you make it back to your office, you're still irritated– not because you lost. You can handle losing. (Mostly…) I mean, it’s part of the job, being a prosecutor wasn’t exactly a highly successful profession.

It's Ruby. It's always Ruby. The way she notices every weakness in an argument before you've even finished making it, the way she seems to know exactly which buttons to push, the way she somehow occupies an embarrassing amount of your thoughts. You dump your briefcase beside your desk and glance automatically toward the window and there she is– across the street, third floor, corner office. Looking right back at you.

Narrow your eyes, you watch as Ruby lifts a sheet of paper, her large black letters pressed right against the window: STOP GLARING AT ME

Your jaw drops. Then, without any hesitation– you raise your middle finger. Across the street, Ruby throws her head back laughing. Laughing. You’re glaring at her, clearly frustrated and she’s actually laughing. Something inside you snaps.

Ten minutes later, you're marching through the lobby of her building. The receptionist barely glances up– apparently your visits have become expected. Wonderful, something less for you to deal with. You take the elevator to the third floor, storm down the hallway and walk directly into Ruby's office without knocking. She doesn't even look surprised– she's sitting behind her desk, suit jacket discarded over the back of her chair, sleeves rolled neatly to her elbows. Unfair.

"Y’know" She says, tapping a pen against her chin and turning around in her chair to face you. "That took longer than I expected, definitely lost bets with a lot of people"

"You're impossible"

"Good evening to you too" Ruby hums simply, clearly unbothered by your evergrowing annoyance.

You point accusingly toward the window. "What is wrong with you?"

The other woman glances over her shoulder, pointing at the window with her pen. "The note?"

"Yes, Ruby the note"

A pause, she shrugs. "I thought it was funny"

"Well you thought wrong"

"Hm" You hate the way she says that, you hate the way she tilts her head, you hate the way she always seems three steps ahead. Ruby studies you for a moment, that quiet intensity you always see in her face when in court. Then says: "You're really angry about a piece of paper?"

"I'm not angry about the paper" You huff defensively, still annoyed but feeling a bit thrown off guard now that she so boldly called you out.

"No?"

"No"

A slow smile appears on her face. "Oh"

Immediate regret about opening that office door. "Oh?" You repeat.

Ruby rises from her chair– not quite crowding you, but still leaving little to no space between the two of you. "Then what are you angry about?"

Nothing. Everything. Months of this. Months of courtroom arguments, sarcastic notes, stolen glances through office windows, months of pretending there isn't something simmering beneath every charged interaction. You cross your arms. "Do you do this with every opposing counselor?" The question leaves your mouth before you can stop it.

"Do what?"

"This" You gesture vaguely between the two of you. "The notes, the comments, the emotional warfare… Whatever the Hell this is"

“Well you’re a bit dramatic today” Ruby hums, that sharp tongued, teasing sarcasm shining through as bright as ever. But still, she takes a brief pause and gives you a slightly more serious answer. "You think I stare into every prosecutor's office at midnight?"

Heat rushes into your face, so you quickly try to brush it off with a scoff. "You're impossible"

"There it is again"

"Because you are being an ass"

She tilts her head in amused interest, still eyeing you up and down like a predator about to pounce. "And yet you came over here" You open your mouth, ready with another argument, another insult, another excuse– nothing comes out. Because she's right, infuriating– but right nonetheless. Ruby's smile softens around the edges. Not much, just enough to be noticeable. "See, that's what I thought"

"Oh, shut up"

"No"

You roll your eyes, half utterly desperate and half somewhat amused. "I am genuinely starting to understand why half the courthouse hates you"

"Only half?"

You groan, dragging a hand down your face. "How do you do that?"

"Do what?" She hums with faux confusion.

"Turn every conversation into an argument" Ruby's laugh is quiet this time– less victorious, more fond. The realization hits you like a truck. Fond. God. That's somehow worse. You stare at her and she stares right back. For once? Neither of you says anything– no sarcastic comments, no objections, no clever comebacks… Just silence, the kind that's been building for months.

Ruby breaks it first, because of course she does. (Silence doesn’t agree with her) "You're staring again"

You shoot her a deadpan glare. "You’ve literally been staring into my office for the past three months"

"Four actually"

"That is not helping your case"

She’s quick to retort– that smart little shit. "I'm a defense attorney, I don't need a case"

The laugh escapes before you can stop it and Ruby's expression changes immediately. Like she's won something. "Oh, don't look so pleased with yourself" You quickly chime in.

"Too late"

You shake your head– unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable. And yet? You take a step closer. Ruby doesn't move, doesn't smirk, doesn't make a joke. For the first time since you've known her, she looks uncertain. Just for a second. It's enough. "You are the most irritating person I've ever met."

"I know" Her admission catches you off guard.

Ruby's gaze flickers briefly to your mouth before returning to your eyes. And suddenly every stolen glance through those stupid windows makes sense. Every note, every late night, every argument, every excuse to keep talking. "Oh"

Ruby huffs out a laugh. "Yeah, no shit"

"Oh" You repeat, the realization still slowly sinking in.

"That's about how I felt too"

Something warm blooms in your chest. You don't give yourself time to think about it– you lean in and Ruby meets you halfway. Mouths finally touching after months of going off at each other. Her lips are soft– somewhat that’s surprising. Sure, they were always pretty (like every other thing about her, infuriating much) but it’s probably the only thing about this woman that could be described as ‘soft’ in any way.

When you pull apart, she's smiling– not smug, not victorious. For once, she’s just smiling. It's almost unsettling. "There she is" She hums, smug as ever..

You narrow your eyes immediately. "Don't ruin this"

"I'm not ruining anything"

"You absolutely are"

Ruby reaches for the legal pad sitting on her desk. Before you can stop her, she scribbles something down and turns it around: STOP GLARING AT ME.

Stare at it– then at her, then back at the note. "Seriously?" This childish, infuriatingly adorable woman. Her grin widens, clearly enjoying getting a rise out of you.

You snatch the pen from her hand. Beneath it, you write: MAKE ME.

You’ve been on the road for  ̶f̶o̶r̶e̶v̶e̶r̶  a couple of weeks. It’s been hunt after hunt after hunt after– you get the gist, nonstop working from town to town with the Winchesters. It’s not like you don’t like your job or don’t enjoy spending time with the brothers, it’s amazing, really– it’s just not like being with Ruby.

Yeah, you promised there was no funny business between the two of you. Also, Sam and Dean would one hundred percent exorcise her pretty face back to Hell and/or never fully trust you again but still– it’s Ruby, you can’t exactly forget a woman like her, much less ignore her. Though to be fair, you don’t make much of an effort to try to avoid her– but who can blame you? Sure, these past few weeks you’ve kept in contact, a couple texts here and there or a rushed call if you’re lucky enough to have time alone– it’s just not the same as having the real thing here with you.

Just as you’re wallowing in your own pity party, laying on the lumpy motel mattress– there’s a knock at your door.

You jump to your feet, hand instinctively reaching for the gun under your pillow as you walk over to the door. It can’t be Dean (it would’ve been way louder, plus he would’ve shouted some obnoxious punch line from the other side…) Can’t be Sam either given he always knocks three firm times, calling out your name so who the Hell was it?

“Normal people open the door when someone knocks” A familiar voice sing-songs from the hallway, lispy amusement to her words.

“Jesus fuck, Ruby” You hiss as you open the door, lowering your gun. “I could’ve shot you”

“Wouldn’t exactly do much damage now, would it?” Ruby hums dismissively, waltzing into the room like she owned the place, no second thoughts whatsoever. “Moose and Squirrel got their own room for once?” She asks, plopping down onto the bed, leaning back on the heels of her hands.

You turn around to face her after locking the door. “You’re telling me you just knocked on my door without even knowing if they were here?” The disbelief is obvious in your tone, though she simply shrugs in response. “You’re unbelievable”

“What?” Ruby asks with faux innocence, tilting her head sweetly. “Didn’t you miss spending time with me?” You offer her a deadpan look, trying your best to maintain the ‘annoyed hunter’ facade despite both of you knowing you most definitely did miss her. “It’s been weeks since we last spent some time together, don't be so mean– live a little” She says, dropping her boots onto the floor with a dull thud and sprawling onto the bed.

“Live a little, says the technically dead demon” You reply, setting the gun down on the bedside table and sitting on the edge of the mattress.

“Ouch” She replies with sarcastic hurt, making her way over to you, hands trailing up your shoulders– fingers carefully moving your hair out of the way as she leans into your neck, not touching yet– but close enough for you to feel her breath. “And here I was being nice, dropping by to spend some quality time with you” Each word is interrupted by a lingering kiss on your skin, her lips trailing from your shoulder all the way up to your jaw.

“Ruby” It’s a futile attempt at stopping her– even if you really didn’t want her to.

“Yes?” She hums sweetly, not caring to stop her mouth from moving against your flesh.

“Sam and Dean could come back with a lead any moment–” It’s pathetic, really. Acting like you’re the rational one, even as your head tilts into her mouth, eyes fluttering shut at the feeling. “You’re trouble” You huff in defeat as you spin around to face her, hands cradling her face as you pull her into a bruising kiss, almost tasting the satisfaction in her smile when doing so.

Her hands are persistent, pulling and tugging at your shirt to get it off while her fingers trail up your stomach, teasing the edge of your bra. Before you know it, you’re both naked, Ruby’s thighs bracketing your hips as you kiss. You can’t help yourself from touching her skin, hands pressing from her shoulderblades all the way down to her ass, hands cupping the flesh there as her teeth grace your neck with the threat of leaving a mark behind– one you most definitely won’t be explaining to Sam and Dean. 

Your chests press together as she leans into your body, mouth continuing her trail down your skin. Ruby’s lips kiss all their way down your chest, her tongue pressing over the sensitive flesh, letting out soft sounds of content against your skin. “Y’know you always act like you don’t want it when I come over…” She hums sweetly, trying to get to you with her shameless teasing.

“Cause you always come over at the worst time possible” You retort through breathy pants, neck straining to look down at Ruby as her mouth starts wandering dangerously close to where you most need her. The demon hums a dismissive ‘mhm’ against your navel before finally diving down, her tongue parting your already dripping heat.
