Earlier this month, Ruby Empress dropped their EP Empressionism, and express themselves with bold colors the Swedish outfit did on the six track release. Aside from previously featured velveteen luxurious disco funk gem Escapism Deluxe, Expressionism also features this satin sleek indie electronic cruiser, Lovelight (JV-30). Now, as much as I harbor an obviously insane amount of zeal for music, I’m rather clueless when it comes to the making of such sonorous ecstasy, so I had to look up what a JV-30 is. Turns out, it’s a synthesizer, and it sure lends some glossy waving charm to this slow stewing toaster. Ruby Empress’ Empressionism EP can be purchased from iTunes. A music video for Escapism Deluxe will be out shortly. 

Swedish troupe Ruby Empress likes to call their music “Debussy disco”, and you’ll quickly comprehend why once you’ve heard the band’s third single to date, a lavish dazzler named Escapism Deluxe. A classy glam and elegant luxuriant dosage of velveteen electro funk and French electro house engulfs us as we delve into the brazen dashing tune. Escapism Deluxe is a disco swanky groover that channels Justice, Phoenix, and Jungle, all at the same time. It doesn’t get more “deluxe” than Escapism Deluxe, a taste off the quartet’s debut EP, Empressionism, due out February 10th. A music video is expected to arrive soon.
