Chapter 41 - Danny. Episode 3.

-----------Daniels point of view---------------

Daniel: I kept starring at Danny in the car, all the way to Ruby's house. We were planted on the back seat, the girls chatting in the front of the car. And the 10 minutes drive made me wish I hadn't agreed to come. It was strange seeing Ruby after what her brother did. Almost did. And I couldn't help but feel an anger towards her, although his actions had nothing to do with her. And I knew that. So it was stupid really. I don't know. Since that night I had just become very protective towards Sparkle, I guess that's also why I now was sitting here starring at Danny as if he was the devil. Still after 30 minutes I kept feeling like I was only ruining the mood.

Sparkle: Hey, are you okay? She planted a hand on my lower back and caressed me softly as she suddenly walked next to me. She had been walking in front of me chatting with the others all the time

Daniel: Yeah I smiled softly I guess tonight just made me tired. Evan really had a big breakdown. It reminded me a lot of how Andy used to crash before we got him to Congo's ranch last year.

Sparkle: She frowned gently Oh… I'm sorry you had to go through that again.

Daniel: Nah, I'm good. Don't worry.

Sparkle: Daniel… you're not made of stone. You know that, right?

Daniel: I sighed softly and lit a cig, blowing the smoke against the cold night sky. thousands of stars were spread on the sky high above us, and as I looked in her eyes I could see them reflect in her big dark brown eyes, making them… sparkle

Sparkle: She giggled lightly Why you looking at me like that?

Daniel: Like what?

Sparkle: Like… I dunno…like I'm your long lost sister or something?

Daniel: I don't have any sister?

Sparkle: No no, I know… you just looked at me like… I dunno… forget it she chuckled softly I'm gonna head up to the others again if you're sure you're okay?

Daniel: I nodded and smiled softly, and watched her run up to the others who walked a few meters ahead of us. We walked a couple of minutes, then Ruby came down to me. I sighed deep as I watched her walk towards me with her hands in her pockets. Sexy girl, don't get me wrong. But now all I see when I look at her is just… fucking shitface Parker!

Ruby: She smiled softly Can I bum a cig from you please? I forgot mine in the car, and Danny seems to only smoke pipe? She looked at me with a soft chuckle and wrinkled her nose

Daniel: Yeah I scoffed I noticed that too.

Ruby: Yeah, I mean, who smokes pipe these days anyway, huh?

Daniel: I shook my head lightly Right. I grabbed my cigs and held the package towards her, observing her smile at me as she grabbed one

Ruby: We had walked about half a minute before she spoke again so uh… I kinda need some

Daniel: What?

Ruby: She chuckled softly and grabbed my cig from between my lips, pressing it against the tip of her own cig and puffed a few times, and as her cig lit she pressed my cig back between my lips again Nevermind, a girl should be able to take care of herself anyway, right? She smiled softly

Daniel: Right… doh! Daniel you didn't give her your lighter.

Ruby: So… I can't help but feel you are a bit annoyed by me, did I do something wrong?

Daniel: I shook my head lightly No. It's not you, sorry.

Ruby: So, it's my brother then?

Daniel: I frowned at her in a questioning way

Ruby: I figured out when he came home with a broken wrist, as I was the one who had to bring him to a hospital.

Daniel: Sorry about that.

Ruby: No, please don't be. I added a broken rib to the list and threw his sorry ass out of my house. He has always been trouble Daniel. I'm just glad someone finally stood up to the jackass. Don't get me wrong, I love him, he's family right? But he's bad news. I was just waiting for a last excuse to get rid of him really, so you did me a favor.

Daniel: I sighed softly

Ruby: I get it, things are a bit weird now. I probably remind you of him. But I hope you know I would never hurt her. I'm not like my brother.

Daniel: I smiled softly

Daniel: I looked up at them a few seconds, then back at her So how did you manage to break his ribs? I mean, you're not exactly…

Ruby: Chuckled softly You mean how did I manage to break a full grown mans ribs with my spaghetti arms? She chuckled softly Baseball bat.

Daniel: I nodded softly Nice!

Sparkle: Hey guys, there's a bench over there next to that coffee shop… we were wondering if we should try to see if they are still open? We could grab a coffee and sit down on the bench, if you want?

Daniel: We? Ugh… she was already we'ing him

Ruby: I'm game.

Daniel: I don't really drink coffee, ADD and all…. did you forget?

Daniel: I sighed softly and followed the leaders over the street, and only few minutes later, I was leaned against a tree, observing the three of them from a distance, each of them sipping their fancy coffees that most of all smelled like some hipster shit Gizmo would drink, while I glared at my hot chocolate. Mine didn't even have marshmallows. I suddenly missed Congo a lot. He would always put marshmallows in.

Ruby: What are you thinking? She walked up next to me with a small smile

Daniel: Hm… how empty this chocolate is without marshmallows.

Ruby: She smiled warmly I don't have any marshmallows… buuut she seemed to grab something from the waist band of her pants I have this though… if you wanna add a dash of magic she winked at me and shook a small bottle of alcohol

Daniel: I grinned wide My kind of girl!

Ruby: She chuckled softly and poured half of the bottle in my mug, and half in her own

Daniel: I returned my eyes to Sparkle and Danny, they were laughing and chuckling like they were long lost lovers, finally finding each other again. It made me want to vomit!

Ruby: So how long have you had feelings for her?

Daniel: I coughed in my mug and spilled a bit of hot chocolate on my hand, sighing out in pain as I quickly dried it in my pants leg I'm not in love with her!

Ruby: I didn't say that she smiled like she had just revealed the murder case of the year I asked, how long have you had feelings for her?

Daniel: I shook my head softly I don't have that either.

Ruby: So that's not the reason you have barely taken your eyes of her tonight, and you act like a jealous boyfriend?

Daniel: I scoffed pfft… I don't act like a jealous boyfriend I rolled my eyes

Ruby: Okay. Let's pretend that for a while. But humor me… you are having feelings for her, right?

Daniel: I looked at Ruby to try to figure if she was joking or not, but she seemed very serious Uh… I don't have feelings for her, or anyone for that matter… I never had feelings for anyone, actually.

Ruby: Really? I could have sworn you had feelings for her?

Daniel: I shook my head softly Sorry to disappoint. Wouldn't matter anyway. I'm not her type, and I'm not into relationships anyway.

Ruby: So you have never been in a relationship?

Daniel: Nope. I sipped my chocolate

Ruby: I just don't get that one… that you're not her type. Obviously you're enough her type to be her fuck buddy? And you pretty much live together at her house… so I don't get the not being into a relationship either?

Daniel: I'm too big of a whore to be in a relationship. It wouldn't last a week. And trust me, Sparkle wants a sweet, caring, down to earth boyfriend with lots of chest hair.

Ruby: Well I guess you are 2 out of 4 as I don't think you're the type to have lots of chest hair?

Daniel: I chuckled softly and shook my head No, I'm definitely not.

Ruby: But you're sweet, and caring, and quite handsome if I may add…. not to mention sexy too… and you have this boyish charisma which is almost unbeatable. So why wouldn't you be good enough for her? You're best friends anyway, right? Have you never heard the saying that a best friend is the best partner you can get?
