i was literally just going through my overwatch tag today looking for something and ended up thinking abt what a shitshow the whole mcreyes thing was wrt how the people who shipped it minded their own fuckin business and then the purity police lost their Gotdamn Minds on everyone who even breathed in its general direction

I’M NOT EVEN IN THE FANDOM FOR REAL AND IT WAS. SUCH A SHITSHOW. like one of the things that gets me about the baseline assumption that gabe and jesse are ~*intended*~ to be interpreted as a father/son dynamic is that uhhh from an outside perspective? overwatch Lore is a goddamn shitshow in and of itself? so i don’t think any interpretation is intended by blizzard ever at all and in terms of fandom content i am PRETTY SURE no one was in the tags screaming “YOU HAVE TO IMAGINE GABE RAILING JESSE 24/7 OTHERWISE YOU’RE A BAD OVERWATCH FAN”

best possible update: i called the waste/sanitation department on the letter and the guy who answered was VERY NICE and when i explained that i am A Grad Student With No Car and i definitely didn’t dump my trash at a lot three miles away from any public transit he was like “understandable, what’s your address and can i have your landlord’s contact info?”

and when i gave him everything he was like “ah. yes. i sent like eight letters to apartments at that address. we send them to residents because landlords tend to be more responsive to tenants than to us” and i was like “ha well mine. aren’t responsive to tenants at all.”

AND HE SAID “well i can give them a call now that i have their info”

every time u bring this up i need to thank you bc i literally just didnt understand what was happening there, i was like dude... shes got a razor calm down like it NEVER MADE SENSE TO ME
