As per section 6 of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, a person who desires to obtain information should submit an application to the concerned authority. It is an important enactment as it mandates timely response to the request of citizens concerning any government information. The queries made are mostly related to the functioning of the government authorities or schemes and policies provided by the government.
