15. Go To a Music Festival
Believe it or not, I've actually never been to a proper concert. I mean, i did see Vanilla Ice and MC King Hammer live once when I was like 14, but that doesn't count.
I went to Rocking The Daisies this year, which is an ULTRA rad South African music festival of four days. I tagged along with my roommate and other university friends in the blistering heat and I am 41 shades darker.
There were complicate tent problems. We were all dehydrated. I ate hotdogs and nothing else. I stood in a single spot for 7 hours just to be in front when MGMT performed. IT WAS GREAT.
Some Music Fest tips I learned quite quickly:
BRING WATER. Usually no one sells water, it's expensive and the water points are epic lines.
Pee before the headline act. Pee before the headline act.
Have some form of open air shade because when the sun's out, the tent is a sauna.
Tie all animal hats down when you head bang.
Don't try to find people. Just go with the flow.
BRING ALL THE MEDICATIONS
Don't get too wasted before the headline acts, you might actually want to remember it. All the other times, go for it!
So much hard floor. Very ow. Bring something to sleep on.
It's super difficult to take pictures during a music festival. Leave the DSLRs at home, unless you want to have fun divided by 12.
Wet wipes are sent from the Gods.
RTD 2014, Dreads, and Homework
First, I would like to say that I had one of the most amazing weekends in South Africa at Rocking the Daisies! It was a 3 day camping music festival at the Cloof Wine Estate. It was an unforgettable experience and I've gained a couple new bands in my itunes! Rudimental, Crystal Fighters, and Jeremy Loops - GO LOOK THEM UP!
Second, I am dreading my hair. It's pretty awesome and I'm loving how its looking. I'm not dreading all of it because I do need to adhere to social norms concerning professionalism (borrrinnnggggg) but it's looking quite cute. My best friend Jessi does them for me :) what am i gonna do without her when I get home!
Third, I've gotten some assignments back (big ones, like papers) and I got A's!!!!! Super excited. The only class that I'm freaking out about is my ECON class because I am NOT an econ major but we will see how things go. I have one more test left and I need to ace it in order to pass. ONLY 3 WEEKS LEFT OF CLASSES OMG
That is all, bru.
Rocking the Daisies 2014 was amazing!
