Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo, anticipating his return to the lineup Wednesday night following a two-game suspension, joked after Tuesday’s practice that he spent the duration of his time away in Mexico. “I went to Mexico, couple days, watched the games,” Rondo deadpanned in his first meeting with reporters since last Thursday. “It was cool.”

The NBA was expected to hand out a much harsher punishment, despite Rondo’s claims that he did nothing wrong last night. (The Brooklyn Nets faced no suspensions, but forward Gerald Wallace was dinged $35,000 for his role in the tussle.)
