Some thoughts.
1. I love Rob and all of his messy fucked up parts. I see him for who he is and I’m not trying to sugar coat his flaws. When I say I love him it’s not just for when he’s sweet and loving to Aaron it’s also when he’s a scheming ass. He’s a layered, complex, character who isn’t simple and who at times I’ve been really angry at for his choices but I still love him.
2. Rob has made mistakes but if you think he deserves to fall this far for them then so do other people in the village who have also done similar things. Aaron, Cain, Charity, Chas, Bernice, Jai, Frank, etc.
3. The Whites are not innocent people. This is not Rob the big baddie vs the poor innocent family he’s hurt time and time again. Both parties in this storyline have done fucked up things to each other and in my opinion the Whites come out looking far worse because whatever you think of Rob at least he’s taken responsibility for his actions and feels a sense of remorse for them. The Whites have proved time and time again they think they’re better than everyone in that village. They don’t think the things they’ve done to hurt others is their fault instead they blame others. Like so many things with Rebecca and Rob but especially the ONS, Chrissie’s actions against Andy, Lachlan’s sexual assault on Alicia, and everything Lawrence did to Tim and Chrissie’s father. If you believe Rob deserves his comeuppance than let me tell you something the Whites have had it coming too.
4. That scene at the mill was totally wasted. They couldn’t even let us have a minute with them alone without Liv being obnoxious and lecturing them. 😒
So I’ll be the first person to admit I don’t want that baby to be Rob’s but right now he thinks Seb is and he’s allowed to love him and be focused on him. Since long before that kid even arrived Aaron kept harping on Rob to care about his son and now that he is I see Aaron fans saying this means Rob doesn’t care about Aaron. No he’s showing care about his son and doing what Aaron wants. If Aaron didn’t want to hear about Rob’s problems or about Seb he doesn’t have to, no one is forcing him to he’s choosing to be involved. Also Rob will NEVER stop caring about Aaron that’s his soulmate and he would die for him. I wish people in this fandom would understand there’s many different kinds of love and love isn’t finite it’s not like if Rob gives love to Seb he’ll have less to show to Aaron, rather the opposite because Seb like Aaron has been helping Rob become a better man.
