Villa dips her index finger into the chocolate sauce and smiles and hums when she licks it off her finger. It is clear that Aure is trying to make her feel as at home in this new place as possible. And though this is a lot for her to get used to, Villa really does not mind sacrificing her old life for the love of her life. Because, despite the messiness of this new life, her world just wouldn’t be the same without her beloved fiancée. 

 “It’s not that I didn’t like them, I’m just not used to Monacan food, Princess,” she admits to her, shrugging with one arm, before she walks over to give Aure a kiss on the cheek. Their new place of living has a bigger kitchen than the one in her old studio apartment, so she’s able to do so without it feeling overcrowded. Which is something that Villa thinks is one of the rare pros of living with the serene highness.  

Delphine’s getting used to a life of normalcy. Though she still has her job as a “flight attendant” that’s not really a job as a flight attendant, and more-so, a reason to travel for her work endeavors, she gets to live the double life she’s always dreamt of with a man who is willing to father her children despite how quickly things have happened between the two of them. In a way, she feels lucky. But the thing is, she has no idea how to live normally. Since...well, she’s never had the luxury of living normally.

“The best?” Delphine teases, eyebrow lifting as they walk by the ocean, their bare feet in the sand. “I doubt it. No coffee beats my coffee, even the fanciest places I’ve ever been have come in second to it.” Her smirk shows she’s confident in her coffee making skills. 

There’s a quick sniff from Claudia. Though she’s typically great at hiding her feelings, seeing Diego injured has her feeling incredibly distraught. Sure, he could easily survive something like this, but there’s the possibility that he won’t. Something she never even considered until she saw him get shot. 

“You’re delirious,” she manages to say, his head in her lap as she pushes his hair away and he bleeds. “I need you to start making sense. For me. Please.” 

There’s a brow arch from Lune after Hector admitted something he couldn’t afford to typically tell her. It makes her think he really believe she’s going to die. She's not going to though. It's impossible. She doesn't even age, anymore.

“You’re likely to lose everything if I’m around. I fuck things up. It’s what happens all the time.” Her hands touch his face. “Save yourself from me, you'll be happier that way.”

Because if anyone’s dying, it’s him, not her. It's never her.

Cee bites her tongue because she suddenly feels self-conscious. Samuel is supposed to trust in her, but he treats her like a child. She does not like that because she’s an adult - an adult who’s trying to adjust to a world that she’s got very little knowledge about. A world where magic is terror and she’s still trying to work out the kinks of it all. 

In Cee’s mind, he should be more understanding.

But then again, no one’s ever been understanding towards her. So, why should this be any different?

“Do you? Because, if you tried being nicer, I’d attempt to keep my mouth shut,” she bites back, after a few moments of silence where she tries to find her words. “It’s a two way street.” Her finger wiggles at him, and then her arms cross over her chest after that. She’s so done.

Jack II’s an intelligent guy, who was raised by an intelligent attorney who was sometimes a dumbass when it came to women. And the thing was, Jack's a bit of a dumbass at times when it comes to Esther.

Give or take the fact that he hasn’t seen her in weeks, he’s been wanting to avoid her to avoid the awkwardness of having to bring up why. She wasn’t the type to understand. She’d been sheltered by someone who had witnessed the horrors of the world, because that very same someone had witnessed them and wanted to keep Esther safe.

Jack wanted to keep her safe, too. And Jack also understood that Ruth did, as well. Issue was, he knew telling her that he’d been avoiding her to keep her safe sounded like something some idiot would say, and they didn't sound like the words of someone who gave a shit about her.

Delphine’s heart thumps to a chaotic rhythm as she looks at Ezra with narrowed eyes and an angry mouth. The fact of the matter is: he has finally now understood that she isn’t a good person. This should have happened ages ago. He should have known she took on the ‘Bright Star’ program for the power and the fact that she’d get an even bigger name for herself. Not because she cared for the sake of the world.

She did not instruct a bunch of children to control their powers for the sake of heart. The fact that he’s only now realizing this makes her want to laugh, despite the weird amount of nervousness she feels over losing her one true love and only friend. 

“Get in line then. Whenever that happens, I’m sure it won’t just be you with this wish.” Her hand waves down at the ground, before she turns away from him to focus on anything except him and his now clear picture of her. “Just because I don’t want to save this shitty world, doesn’t mean I’m evil. But fine, feel as you feel. You have indeed lost the only other person in your life, other than those ‘students’ of yours, who understands you.” 

She wants to walk away, but she doesn’t. Instead, she decides to do something she never does - Delphine uses her powers on him. “Leave.” And he does, because she told him to. And because despite it all, he knows if he stays things will likely be worse between them. “Save this wretched world, and let those kids die due to your bullshit hero complex.”

verse: trapped in a mysterious city notes: gal pals in any universe.

When Aylin wakes up in the mysterious city, she wakes up in a little shop. She’s apparently trapped in a room and it scares the fuck out of her because she likes having space to breathe. She also likes having a way out.

The fact that she’s got no way out is alarming. The fact that there’s no one there to help her is even more alarming. Though she wants to curl up into a ball and cry, because she thinks she’s been kidnapped by murderers or someone who wants to use her for her scientific research, she ends up banging on the door instead. 

Her logical mind should tell her to search for a key, since there’s a card reader on the door, but she’s so panicked that it doesn’t occur to her until she hears another voice on the other end of the door. 

“Hello? Are you stuck in your room, too?” the voice of a woman asks, causing Aylin to calm down just a little and breathe so shaky she feels she might need to sit. 

“Yes — yes, I am,” Aylin explains to her. 

“Can you find the card? I have a note here that says I need to find a card. Have you found that?” the person with the woman’s voice asks, and for a moment, Aylin wonders if this is a trick. If someone is going to trick her. But she takes her chance. 

She trashes the room, flipping over the desk in the room, opening drawers. Opening the closets. Opening files. Up until she finds a card. “I found the card!” she expresses out loud, smiling like she’s just won a million dollars. 

“Great, now slide it in the card reader,” the woman says. And when Aylin does, she’s surprised to see a beautiful woman standing on the other side of the door.
