Typa shit Sam sends Rowena tipsy and maudlin at 2 in the morning
A bit of randomness but I think my dad ships Sam and Rowena… he’s only in season 11, mind you… and I also ship it tbh
But he’d already made a bracelet that says “Sam and Ruby” and the other day he was like “I should make one that says Sam and Rowena” 🤣
Not too sure he was thrilled with the word “Samwena” lol
Sam and Rowena are die hard Florence + The Machine fans (she put him on trust)

The warm library light casts a light over Rowena’s body tangled up in Sam’s personal bubble. The Scotswoman comfortably snuggled in the dip of his lap, her arms above her head, relaxed and limp as her legs sport a similar position up on the arm of the couch. “I’m just saying, Samuel. What have you been makin’ of such an uptight life?” Her head tilts as she lets a smirk take over her red lips.
Sam peeks past his lore book at the cheeky grin in a rumple of red hair. “I’m not uptight.” He furrows his brows, and he feels her body vibrate as she snickers. “I like it when you pout.” The side of her thumb brushes across his subtly jutted lip, and as he catches her scent of incense— he immediately hates himself for liking it so much. “Yeah? Well, I like it when you’re not sitting on me.” He gently grunts, trying to adjust his legs, and Rowena scoffs. “You don’t appreciate my presence?” Sam laughs, shrugging. “I’d appreciate it a little bit more if it was on the other side of the couch.” She crosses her sleeved arms over her chest, framed by the low-cut top of her dress. “What an ungrateful oaf you are.” The moue on her face made his stomach flutter against his will. “Stop calling me that.” His chuckle contrasted with the complaint. “I thought you liked it.” Her pout lightened up. “I don’t.” Sam quips back, a little lower, trying to look stern despite his thin smile.
Rowena pauses, squinted eyes tracing over his sharp features looming over her. “…Your eyebrow twitches when you lie.” Giggles rouse her chest as she quietly rebuts.
…Sam barks out a laugh, hand coming up to his face. “Seriously? Are you serious?” Rowena could barely answer him through her cackling. “I’m not lying!” She caught her breath to speak, hand coming to her bittersweetly tightening stomach. “You can’t be serious. You’re just now telling me this.” He caught himself adding on to the madness of it all, just to make her laugh harder. And it seems his work paid off nicely as he threw her head back in a fit of laughter, a moment where she would usually bury her face in her hands. “Wow, Rowena. You’re a bad friend.” Sam joked, shaking his head. Just as her uncontrollable laughter dies down, she wipes a tear from under her eye. “You’re an even worse liar.” She makes herself snicker a bit.
“Are you done?” He taunts, propping his temple on his knuckles, elbow anchored on the back of the couch. Rowena scoffs, smiling. “Oh, I don’t think I’ll ever be done making fun of you, Sam Winchester.” Rowena’s heart pumped, adrenaline fueling her boldness.
Sam rolls his eyes, one-handedly shutting the long-forgotten book beside him. “Very funny.” He says. “Glad you agree.” Rowena hums.
Between the vertigo and the faintly flickering Men of Letters library light above him, he found his mind slipping in and out of the once warm memory of that evening and the all-consuming urge to close his eyes and sleep. He glanced at his silver watch, which reflected a glare into his bleary eyes. 2:17, he couldn’t find it in him to be shocked. It was ironic how his foot had fallen asleep before he did, pins and needles gradually taking over his whole leg as he yawned. The youngest Winchester barely noticed the sound of footsteps slowly approaching, but when his brain caught up— he closed his eyes and called out with a raspy voice. “I’m fine, Dean.”
A lighter tone responded. “Guess again.”
Sam suddenly found it in himself to turn his head toward the source, only to be met with a much smaller frame than he previously assumed.
Rowena’s sapphire nightgown was what caught his eye, seconding the look on her face. Lace, thin straps holding the silk, ankle-length dress on bare, freckled shoulders. Her usual extravagantly decorated neck was now stripped to a singular necklace, the crystal at the end dangling near her solar plexus.
For the sake of her sanity, she had to ignore the heat spreading across her face as she noticed his lingering stare.
“Practicing your owl impression?” Although she made unserious comparisons, she didn’t seem amused as she ambled closer to the table he slaved over. He felt himself weakly smile. “Yup.” His head drifted back down to his book. Rowena tucked auburn, undone hair behind her ear. “You know, you aren’t gonna find what you’re looking for. Not now, at least.” As she shrugged, she lifted herself onto the table, movements swift. His eyes flickered to where her hip sat next to his hand. “It’s in here somewhere.” His attention shifted up to her looming gaze over him. “And…what?” She furrowed her brows. “You think it won’t be there tomorrow?”
…Sam hadn’t even noticed his mouth fell apart as his train of thought staggered. And when Rowena quietly laughed, he knew it was because she could read it on his face. Her snickers faded, and her hand came to comb hair out of his face, fingers finding purchase on the back of his neck. “My poor boy.” Her fingers subtly pressed firmer into his skin, a smile lingering on her rosy lips. “You’re shaking.” He didn’t wanna look away from her, but curiosity had him drifting his eyes to his unmistakably trembling hands on the table. He huffed, the corners of his mouth twitching up. “Too much coffee.” His low register sounded foreign as it rumbled under his breathy words. “Or,” Rowena started, her hand draping over his rested one. “Not many hours of sleep.” It made his heart stammer when he noticed her eyes hadn't left his drowsy pout.
He had to fight back a whine in his throat when her fingers drifted from his cheek, and instead felt the familiar gesture of her thumb swiping across his lip. “How long have you been awake?” She softly asked. Sam barely found it in himself to answer. “…Too long.” He closed his eyes, softly scoffing at the irony as his lip quirked. Rowena mirrors his expression. “Let's get you to bed then, dear.” He held his chin between her knuckle and thumb, nodding. “Hm?” Her hand wandered to his back as she slid off of the table with grace. Hell, her hands were warm. Not that he didn’t know that. “…God,” He laughs, not sure at what, as he braced his hand on the table to support him as he stood. “What's so funny?” She tilts her head, hand rubbing at his lower back.
“This,” He weakly gestures, letting her lead him along the floors. Rowena snickers, subtly interlocking their arms. “It's not common to see a domesticated moose, now, is it?” He huffed, smile growing. “That was a stupid joke.” She giggles. “Well— you start running out of jokes over the centuries, you know.” She quips. “Oh, I know.” He looks down at her, subconsciously tightening his arm around hers. He could barely get a chuckle out at the face she made before she used her free hand to whack his bicep. “How rude!” She exclaimed as her laughter filled the corridor…And warmed Sam’s heart.
