enjoying realistic approaches to writing, character development and interaction, and/or headcanons
that's it, seriously, pun intended.
The RPC is huge, it is a good thing that there are different ways to enjoy RP! The way someone else is enjoying RP isn't detracting from the way you do or forcing you to pursue it in the same way as they do. Furthermore, I absolutely promise you, as A Serious RPer myself, you are in no way in the minority if you enjoy less serious approaches, and exactly no one on this end wants to make you do otherwise.
If you feel pressured to pursue RP differently than you enjoy because of the type of RPers you have around you, the solution isn't doing the same thing by implying they're wrong and not having fun. The solution is to surround yourself with RPers who enjoy RP in the way you do, while not frustrating yourself by engaging with those who do not. This might take some effort or preclude interaction with that one character you want so badly, but if "RP is for fun" and their style isn't fun for you, their blog isn't for you.
Some RPers find it fun to realistically write and develop headcanons and characters, some RPers do not. Both are fine. Not understanding why someone else finds something fun you don't is fine. Just don't interact with them and focus on what you do find enjoyable!
It is absolutely not necessary to vilify each other, thanks.
