It's fun for every fitness level, depending on how you pace yourself. If you're looking for some sight seeing go on a sunny day of course! If you're looking to get in a good workout, go whenever!
The climb up the mountain surrounds you with natural beauty. Tall trees, secluded trails, and areas to stop and enjoy the view. If you pack a lunch you can find picnic tables to sit down at and relax. This is a popular hiking spot in Medford, but the trail is so long and offers many different routes, so you won't run into too many people. You should be aware of the bikers though. They fly down those trails! Of course they are kind and courteous to their walking counterparts.
Walking up and taking time to goof off will take about an hour to get to the top. It's well worth the trip and viewing all the beautiful fall colors on the way up is an added bonus!
