roxas-number-thirteen reblogged this post for a starter!
Twelve years. Twelve whole years. Ven knew it had been a long time, and that he’d eventually lost track of the specifics of just how much time it had been since he’d fallen asleep, but that was a good while longer than he’d thought it had been since his fight with Xehanort and Vanitas.
The differences were insane. On one hand, he had more or less completely skipped through puberty, which was a plus, but having slept through it had definitely stunted his growth. From what he could tell, he was only a couple of inches taller. Hell, one of the first things Terra had said to him was that he was “still short”. Suddenly having to deal with things like shaving was strange, especially when he still saw a baby face in the mirror. He also thought he’d wake up quickly after, again, twelve whole years of sleep, but it took a while to actually stay awake for more than a few hours at a time.
Ven tried to look on the bright side of things. He was awake, and both Aqua and Terra were back. Recovery was going to take a while, but in the end, he’d be okay. At the same time, there was something eating at him: Xehanort was trying to start another war yet again, and, just like the last time, Ven had to fight. He didn’t know if he was prepared for what might happen. Memories had slowly been coming back in ever since he’d faced Vanitas, and Xehanort made up a good deal of them. the thought of seeing him again…
The door opened, snapping him out of his thoughts. Ven smiled when he saw who it was. “Hey, Rox! What’s brings you here?”
