It had been a little weird since monsterkind had made it to the surface. Weird in the sense that things no longer felt as safe as they used to. Walking home by himself had never been a problem before, but when he lived several blocks away from the restaurant he’d eaten with friends at, it was a little unnerving to have to walk by himself in the dark.
With his orange hood up and hands shoved into his sweatshirt pocket, he strolled, hoping he wouldn’t get lost on the way. What room did he live in again? It was... 203? 204? He couldn’t remember. 2-0 something... Maybe he’d have to text Blue. Hopefully, he remembered.
As he was passing a dark alley, he heard a dog bark, and picked up the pace a little, until the sound of a group of men caught his attention, causing him to pause briefly before the light of a shop to watch across the street.
It seemed a group of men had gotten themselves drunk, burping and hanging all over each other, laughing. Humans really were disgusting creatures, weren’t they? He couldn’t help but think them gross, grimacing in disgust. His attention was captured once more a moment later when they began to whistle.
“Hey pretty lady,” one shouted at an oncoming figure, and Papyrus watched idly, mildly concerned. He figured that the new human would likely pass by unharmed, but somehow the group of men seemed almost... dangerous, and Papyrus felt almost obligated to keep a watchful eye out, just in case. The whole scenario felt a little... off. Wrong, somehow, though he wasn’t quite sure why.
