Hi! Your blog brings me so much joy in these trying times, so thank you for your service â¤ď¸
One of my favorite things youâve ever written was when Hunterâs daughter got herself into trouble on the bridge and everyone jumped in to save her. I was wondering how Crosshair might react in a similar situation, except this time itâs HIS child thatâs in danger? After the finale I just really need some Dad!Cross content. đđ
Ahhh omg thank you so much youâre so sweet.đĽşâ¤ď¸
Yes Iâve always got a hankering for Crossâbuir okay here we go.

I think Crosshair would take it much more personally than Hunter. Heâd see it as a personal failure. Yes Hunter also feels bad when his baby toddles off BUT he also understands that kids will be kids and so he doesnât dwell on what could have beenâmore, what is. The facts. Baby is safe and sound. Thatâs all that matters. Truly.
Crosshair doesnât see it that way.
He thinks about everything but the facts. All the couldâves and the shouldâves. He couldâve kept them safe. He shouldâve been paying more attention.
He couldâve lost them.
Even when theyâre safe in his arms again. Crosshair carries his guilt indefinitely; no amount of reassurance is going to assuage him. Itâs honestly best to just not say anything to him about it, just let his guilt run its course because itâs going to regardless. He carries the safety of others on his shoulders every minute of every day and when their safety is compromised in any way he takes that very personally. His burden is heavy.
Itâs hard seeing him sulk about for that period of time afterwards but he eventually comes aroundâonce he sees his lil nugget happy and playing again and then it all registers with him. Everything is OK.
And he swears heâs gonna do better.
When his child goes missing Crosshair would be just as frightenedâdownright terrifiedâas Hunter. But you would never know that just by looking at him. Heâs dangerously calm. Hunter allows vulnerability into his stature. Crosshair doesnât. He hides his fear substantially betterâI once said Hunter is in fact so damn emotional and fueled by his emotions in real-time, whereas Crosshair internalizes it. Hunter feels in the moment but rebounds quick and is back to business. With Crosshair itâs the opposite, he has a delayed effect, feels it all later and itâs harder for him to shake.
They both cope and approach their feelings differently but all the same: the Buire are ready to tear the galaxy apart to find their adâike.
