This scene hit me so viscerally man.

If you’re someone who’s dealt with ideations before, the symbolism in this moment is so clear and real.

Jax has been completely swallowed by his grief, everything around him is a constant reminder of what he’s lost (crossed out doors, pictures, the damn tea table), and what good things he’s pushed away (Pomni).

So he decides to finally give in and let it all end.

What really gets me in this moment is how accepting Jax is of his fate. No panic, no fear, just realization and peace.

Goose has done an incredible job at outlining Jax’s mental issues throughout the show, but this really takes the cake for me.

This one moment, albeit trippy and initially confusing, communicates a shared experience among so many people. I think it really speaks volumes as to why so many people (myself included) love Jax despite his flaws.

We don’t know for sure how long Jax has been in the circus, but it’s definitely been for a while.

There’s no doubt in my mind that his room being “girly” or kiddy-like is a play on his fragile masculinity, but it made me realize as well that Jax is still a kid man.

I saw someone on Twitter compare this to the “can with no can opener” moment from IHNMAIMS, and the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.

Obviously the largest parallel is the goose chase. Caine isn’t “evil” like AM is, but he did lead the group on a journey motivated by a false hope, in IHNM it was food, in TADC, it’s the exit.

I’m curious to see how the next act of TADC plays out because of this. In the short story, Ted ends up killing the others as an act of mercy, sacrificing himself to AM’s torture.

No slurs were said, edgy and distasteful jokes were made. Half of yall wouldn’t stand a chance in the online spotlight if your past got dug up, so stop trying to wrongfully cancel the people who make your favorite media possible.

I know many are very upset with the ending, but I honestly thought it was the best way to end the series. Roughly everything was resolved and explained, and the audience gets to leave the theater knowing their questions have been acknowledged.
