It’s on! After packing gear and spending a portion of the morning both dodging a organized run that blocked off a lot of streets and shooting around Newport we hit Hwy 20 at 9:30am.   Traffic was definitely an issue as we hit numerous sections under road construction, weekend drivers that love to go much below the stated speed limit and a parade that rerouted us through Lebanon, just to name a few.  We finally started making good time a few miles outside of Bend. It’s been a 14 hour day so I’ll post where we wound up in the morning but this trip is already nothing short but amazing.  We even got to race a train.  Who does that?
