i've been taking a break on the "secret" project and hg... i've been considering hg a little lately but mostly been brainstorming for drlh

finalized:

five deities, five original houses, two elements each

each of them have a "human" form and a "deity" form that's heavily based off their assigned animal

they all have a "pillar" of natural things needed to survive. they each represent a concept and embody it, they cannot do anything else (eg. "love", which corresponds to happiness, cannot feel upset or triggered)

they can be born from either ascension from an animal / human, or from the... i don't have a name for it yet. the ether. the primordial soup.

the moment the previous one dies, another one is born ASAP to restore the balance.

during this period, the world is in chaos at the absence of the traits (eg. if death died, no one would be able to die until a new "death" is born. no one would be able to grieve or feel regret.)

essentially their whole concept collapses as well. people are unable to "dream", in sense of the actual one as well as their aspirations and desires

if they are neither dead or alive, like in the case of dream, it's just horrible life day after day. not that different, is it

i say things like "happiness" and "sadness" below, but it consumes a whole spectrum

they can take any physical form they like, but all of them have their own individual styles (eg. death is formal like funeralwear, while dream has a more "rebellious" look).

pronouns? technically they don't really use pronouns because they're a concept (see: "THEY" in hsr) but there's different ways they prefer to present

death is she/he/any, dream prefers she/her, life and love are undecided as of yet, mind is strictly they/them

out of these five, dream is definitely the most developed. i like dream the most. i am very biased.

next, i think i'd like to design the life deity. i've had ideas floating around in my head, but i have put zero to paper

characteristic list:

death -> house of lan -> physical / darkness -> sadness (regret, grief, etc.) -> raven / crow -> "blind death" (like how death is impartial)

life -> house of evans -> growth / decay -> fear -> vulture -> "birthless life" (bottom of torso carved out)

love -> house of innamorati -> fire / wind -> happiness (ecstatic, mania, etc.) -> black swan -> "heartless love"

dream -> house of infideliter -> water (new) / astral -> sadness (regret, grief, etc.) -> eternal / moon jellyfish -> "? dream" (working on it)

mind -> house of constantine -> light -> neutrality / apathy -> likely the most humanoid -> "mindless logic"

mind is a strange case where i don't know what other element to put in there
