hey so, there are actually a lot of trans men and transmascs who are shamed and discriminated against for being masculine! i know the post may seem cringy and pointless but there are lots of people out there who actually Do need reassurance that their masculinity is okay, it's not just a conservative thing and it definitely doesn't always come from a place of privilege. implying otherwise seems a bit inconsiderate but i'm sure you didn't mean it that way
It's a conservative thing and it comes from a place of privilege. Trans men literally have to be hypermasculine to be perceived as men in virtually every (southern) state and area I've lived in. My best transmasc friend is gender nonconforming and wanted to wear a cool skirt to graduate in but couldn't at risk of being mocked or much worse. No one is challenging the idea that men can be masculine. People who are against trans men being masculine do it because they're transphobic, not because there's any actual societal force against masculine men.
