Close to midnight, the clinking sound of metal being knocked several times against a rock-like surface, bounced between the walls of Furu's home cave. A few seconds later, the same sound repeated, tightly followed by a familiar voice yelling from the entrance. "Woody, I know ye're here! Ain't nice t'let sum'n wait by door!"
It took a while for the echoes of the clinking to reach Furu, he had fallen asleep on his make shift laboratory. “oody, ow ye re. Ay ce um ay oor!” is all he could make out as he was still drowzy and didn’t really know what was going on.
The lizard slowly started tweaking his eyes open from his slumber. As the third metallic thumping reached his ear he jolted upwards and of his stool and startet snarling, he didn’t like being woken up. He started making his way to the entrance.
Who would just come up to a random cave -is what it was he hoped- and knock on it thinking someone was in there, and at night too. It must’ve been someone he knew or… knew him.
“You must have some nerve bangin’ on my cave! You know, there could be much more dangerous things in caves than lil’ ol’ me.” Is what you could hear from the inside coming closer to the entrance.
But as he was only a few meters from the entrance, he heard a familiar voice, it was the little one’s, Milli’s. No, it couldn’t be her, could it?
But when he reached the entrance his doubt was wiped away.
“Milli?! What are you doing here?” He snouted more angry at being woken up than at her being there. “Ya know it’s almost midnight, right; what if something big was in here?” He huffed, taking a short breather. “Hhhanyway, what’s it that ya want here?” he inquired, resting his hands on his hips and looking down at her.
