Part of my Tales from Valaria series.
An episodic series of short stories surrounding the adventures of the Watchers operating out of Caenum, the human capital. Follows Watcher Hector Epsilona and his apprentice Luc, or Luc Epsilona and his not-apprentice Reese Takari.
Arranged in chronological order of the time they were written, not when they take place. All are complete unless marked otherwise.
Magician's Bait

A series of murders has taken place up and down the River Torrent, in the villages and towns farthest from Caenum's influence. Luc and Reese are sent to investigate, accompanied by Damian at his insistence. But when all three are kidnapped, they discover that the case runs deeper than any of them realize. Occurs after Magician's Bait. Contains: kidnapping, imprisonment, PTSD, conspiracy, murder.
The Poisoned Knife

During a raid, Reese is stabbed with a knife coated in an unknown poison. Due to her Draigo heritage, conventional medical technology is insufficient, and Luc must seek out an old contact to find an antidote before it is too late. Takes place around the same time as Magician's Bait. Contains: stab wounds, poison, PTSD, ambush, injuries
Kidnapped by a Smuggler
