tf!ghosties character is relatively new, so if time rips this idea out of the ground give me grace, but essentially from what I know of ghostie and drift (as an aj main who only sporadically watches their flight povs), I feel like theres room for an interesting dynamic between the two if ghostie figures out drifts background.
I’ve seen some theories about ghostie recognising drift from her family dagger, and I want to play it out a bit further.
essentially for ghostie I imagine it would make her a tad insecure, she seems very attached to her status and finding out that not only has aj moved on, but she’s moved on with someone who outranks her significantly might cause some interesting character reactions. ‘the third-born child of a lord could not possibly compete with a princess’ kinda deal.
I also think it would be interesting if she could out that aj doesn’t really know, aj knows drifts family is well off, and I imagine has an inkling of her status, but with no real confirmation from drift or anyone else. I think ghostie would struggle with whether to tell aj or not, but I have no idea the route she’d go.
It could also possibly be bonding for ghostie and drift in a way. They both are very different at first glance, but despite their similar backgrounds they’re very different, ghostie values her status, role, and family, while drift rejects hers entirely. However, they both ran away from home, and are strong fighters, so I wonder if they might connect over similar experiences. ghostie learning to stand on her own and not attach herself to nobility so much, drift learning to be more open about her background and less fearful of people judging her for it.
As a lover for a messy and chaotic story, I unsurprisingly adore Rottenfruit. Please make everything worse.
