Day 1: Favorite Chatacter

Day XXVIII - XXX Wonders of Growing Up and Center of a Child King

“Hey, why is my center “Joy”, wouldn’t it be fit for a King to have “Bravery” or “Fear”?” Jack asked. He sat on the ground tired from the morning sword training. The morning crisp air of Winter fills the courtyard. “Saya, why did you think that I’ll be a good king?”

The knight who knelt down to address his bruises looks up at him and nodded her head. “Because "Joy” is the one thing that decides the other could be a friend or foe, ‘Joy’ is the one thing can tie a kingdom together and lead peace.”

Saya looked straight into his eyes and said, “It is also the first thing to die in war.That is why I believe you would be a good king. Because you are the one who will protect it even in war.”

This was inspired by that one last airbender post about Airbenders in general and why they were wipeout in the first place. So uh here some angst :p

Jenny and Andy Bennett, The Jamie Bennett´s Children by Rise of the Guardians:) 

I wanted to do so much for the anniversary this month, but unfortunately, I could do almost none of it. 

But not to worry! I’m participating in the Secret Santa ROTG event, and I have quite a few things to post for that next month! 

Rise of the Guardians was my third largest hyperfocus I ever had, but it’s also the most important one because it inspired me to get into 3D animation. The characters and their worlds are so complex, so original, and so gorgeous. And the concept of having children’s fables be actual real spirits of the dead that suffer in isolation because their death was so enveloped in the protection of those younger than them.....? That’s unbelievably painful and simultaneously wonderful. 

And Peter Ramsey, the director of ROTG, who you all now know as the director and Academy-Award winner for Into the Spiderverse, is such a role model. Especially looking at William Joyce’s books. 

Mr. Joyce’s stuff is incredible and magical too, he’s the one responsible for ROTG happening in the first place. But nearing the last book, the story went all over the place. Canon was breaking, and we wasted a lot of time in Jack’s “human” life which didn’t make sense considering what was set up prior. 

Peter was the one that kept it together, he kept the characters in their molds as they should be. He just directed the movie to where it needed to be in all aspects, and he does such a great job of including all the characters in some way or another, but never truly keeps the full focus off the main character. He just does it so well. 

Anyway, I’m rambling again, haha... 

but ROTG is more important to me than I lot of people realize, and even after 7 years, and a dead fandom, ROTG was so magical for me back then, and it still is to this very day. 

I’ve simply taken on too many projects this month to get around to it. Otherwise I was thinking of expanding on my ROTGEM crossover with ROTG and SU. But we shall see when I have some free time again!

The locket seemed to magnify this light and glow with such brilliance, it harmed the Lord. He screeched and retreated, glaring at the young child, trying to trick him and sneak up behind him. But Jack wouldn’t falter; with a final blow, the light from the locket shattered the tall man’s mask, and the room went dark....(READ MORE)

.....Jack removed his hood, his sclera now black and ice flowered beneath his feet. …and eyes as blue as the faces of the dead in the Maw.

With a final sprint, he leapt into the air and caught onto a hook in record timing, soap bubbles flying off his dangling feet; the yeti screeching out to him. Jack didn’t bother looking back. He didn’t want to know what else those beasts put into their stews. He was even more disturbed as to who dared even eat stews with children in it. Seems like some of the Maw rumors were true. He cursed that Bunny with all his being. How dare it bring them to a place like this. Their living situation was poor and stressful. But it was nothing like the hell that was this place.
