Realize Continuous Signal and Energy Transmission

In many devices, there are rotating parts and stationary parts. Signals (such as control signals, data signals, etc.) and energy need to be transmitted between these two parts. If there is no slip ring, we can only transmit through rotating connectors or batteries. But they are not very reliable and cannot meet the needs of long-term work. The slip ring consists of two parts: the rotor and the stator. The rotor is connected to the rotating part of the equipment, and the stator is connected to the fixed part. This design enables the equipment to maintain continuous signal transmission while rotating.

Simplify Equipment Structure and Wiring

In some equipment with rotating structures, if slip rings are not used, in order to achieve the connection between the rotating part and the stationary part, a large number of drag chains and soft wires are required. This will complicate the equipment structure and increase the probability of failure. The slip ring can directly connect the wires through the internal conductive path to simplify the structure and wiring of the equipment.

Improve Equipment Stability

Slip rings generally use conductive materials such as alloys and graphite, which can maintain good conductivity during rotation. This is because the covalent bonds between carbon atoms in graphite materials are tightly bound, and electrons can move freely in them. According to research, the electron mobility of graphite within the graphite layer can be as high as 15000 cm²/(V・s), reducing failures due to friction and contact.
